The problem is the majority of “republicans” are traitors and grifters. This problem doesn’t end until we end the mass ballot harvesting and “voting rights” for the incompetent. Where’s the test to vote? Where’s red flag voting laws?

Anyone known to be associated with communism should be permanently banned from voting as they are known subversives and terrorists

Who are the traitors to the Republican party? I'm serious, a dangerous part of party politics is putting the party first before anything else, even the constitutes that voted you in.

It's why you end up with smaller parties being more in line with their grass roots since they are needed for their party's survival but when they get bigger they only give them passing recognition since they are no longer required especially when they're the only other option.

You mean like how Joe Manchin betrayed his red state for many years? More of that, but on our side, please.

Democrats do it and we don't, which is why they win. They run a tighter ship & so they gain advantage from that.

America doesn't work that way. Never will. We have a 2 party system.

It used to be that politicians had a day job and only met in the senate once or twice a month. Making it a full time position created the bloated mess it is now.

It effectively became a full time position in my state after they put term limits in. In just the 13 or 14 years we've had term limits they've tripled their pay, meet every year and usually there will be an additional special session or two (and the money they make in-session is tax-free), iirc really increased their per diem, all the while they term out by the time they start to learn how things work. They typically just sponsor whatever bills lobbyists give them now.

Yes, there's an issue when you don't have term limits, we see that at the federal level, but term limits ain't all they're cracked up to be either. I'd rather not have them after seeing how it's changed my state.

That could be a post-hoc-ergo-propter-hoc rationalization. Lobbying has gotten worse everywhere, politicians have gotten lazier and more corrupt everywhere. It's entirely possible that the term limits are not causal here.

I don't know what the solution is other than for all of society to treat politicians with utter contempt by default. Assume that they are selfish, incompetent social ladder climbers that will stab their constituents in the back the second it benefits themselves to do so. Do not let them back into polite society.

Unfortunately, I think the time when that would have been possible is long gone. The people in charge of the west have no shame and have all of the money and power they could ever want and don't need the approval of anybody outside of their incestuous circles to lead comfortable lives.

He just posted a weaselly "because she brought a lawyer and hur-dur I'm a lawyer" justification.

Shakespeare was right. The hilarious part is he's getting dog piled by both sides.

He committed to voting to expel her then betrayed at the last second.

She's white & the two he voted to expel were black. He knew how this would look. When the Democrats took the obvious layup, he's all like "it's disgusting untrue, and highly offensive", LOL spare me your performative offense, sir. You knew how the game is played and how it would be used, and you also know your faux outrage at being called a racist is worthless.

alleged defects in the resolution

this dumb motherfucker was there and saw it with his own eyes. his own letter says she did the same shit as the other 2 guys. he admits to evidence which would justify expulsion in his very letter, and admits to having seen it. he doesn't offer any inconsistent or mitigating facts that would suggest this chick should have been treated more lightly.

but muh gut

Oh? "your gut" is the only basis for why you changed your vote to save one white woman while condemning 2 black men who did the same shit? is your gut racist, or feminist, or both, sir?

what a retard.

Even worse is that the fat blob of a woman he white knighted for is calling him out as a racist because she's... -gasp- white.

She's also on there swooning because Kamala is flying out to meet with the "Tennessee Three".

Optics will never be on our side. Lets just accept that. Even if we compromise, we still bad guys. Even if we cure cancer, we still bad guys. Even if we save a kitten from an alligator, we bad.

You can win the propaganda war. You don't win by ceding the field, and you don't win by being a coward and letting the Democrats define the rules, either.
