The global EMP was always the correct ending to choose. Everything else was a dystopian nightmare in that game.

NPR just showing its total commitment to whoring itself out.

I wonder how much the CCP contributed for this article.

I don't think this is about China for them. TikTok is mainlining left wing garbage into children and teenagers. They absolutely love any way to get their indoctrination into young people. Even Jamaal Bowman talking about it admitted it by defending TIkTok on the basis that it is "engaging young people in the democratic process." Biden has had TikTok influencers come to the White House. They were brought in to learn the correct narratives on things like COVID, Ukraine, and you can guess what else and then they push it out to their followers.

TikTok is on trial as U.S. authorities consider a ban. There's just one problem: it's not only an app for silly videos anymore, it is now entwined with our culture. Who are they? The TikTok generation. You might think of them as tweens shaking their hips to a Megan Thee Stallion song. In actuality, more than 1 in 3 Americans are using the app.

1 in 3 Americans view porn too, does that make pornhub a driving force of our culture?

Like it or not, TikTok is setting the discourse on beauty standards, cultural appropriation, finances, privacy and parenting, and impacting consumption habits from books to music, boosting small businesses and keeping users privy to avian illness drama.

No, it’s not, it’s setting the standard for e-girls, women desperate for attention, and the guys that jerk off to e-girls. Everything else is the screeching of retards that china pumps into the algorithms to make it prominent to users.

Pew research found a small but growing number of U.S. adults are also now getting their news on TikTok, even as news consumption on other social media platforms stagnates or declines.

Press x to doubt, the “growing number” is women and troons who can’t handle the cognitive dissonance of existing anywhere with discourse.

TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew in his prepared remarks before the U.S House Committee on Energy and Commerce: Let me state this unequivocally: ByteDance is not an agent of China or any other country. However ... you don't simply have to take my word on that. Rather, our approach has been to work transparently and cooperatively with the U.S. government and Oracle to design robust solutions to address concerns about TikTok's heritage.

A Chinese agent lies! Shocking…

Author and lecturer Trevor Boffone, in the 2022 book TikTok Cultures in the United States: TikTok has fully penetrated U.S. culture. Take for instance a trip to grocery chain Trader Joe's, which features an "as seen on TikTok" section promoting foods made popular by TikTok. Or, for example, Barnes & Noble stores, with tables dedicated to #BookTok. And, of course, TikTok has perhaps had the most obvious influence on the music industry; trending songs on TikTok find commercial success and land at the top of the charts.

So they have their version of “as seen on tv”? The music industry is dependent on pumping out crap to low iq people, for example, your use of Megan Thee Stallion, whose average listener has a room temperature iq.

In just two years, the share of U.S. adults who say they regularly get news from TikTok has roughly tripled, from 3% in 2020 to 10% in 2022. The video-sharing platform has reported high earnings the past year and has become especially popular among teens – two-thirds of whom report using it in some way – as well as young adults.

10% sounds about right for the stupid, malicious, and degenerate populations…

Non of these vapid social media type sites are essential to our culture. They come and go, and if one is removed from its cycle artificially early due to the US government that will just hasten the rise of its inevitable replacement.

Unfortunately, yes and that's part of the problem too.

There would be backlash if they did, but I bet they could sell their sheep on it. I mean why not try the prevailing methods of media control. Claim TikTok pulled out of the US or is dangerous or something. Attack any dissent as disinformation and ridicule dissenters. Being that I suspect the dissent will lean a lot more young and left than the other things they've done this with, almost all of them will just cave with a "yes, master" and move on.

Even though TikTok is a cancer, the government must never be permitted to prevent Americans from accessing apps with such easily exploited justification.
