Can you conceive of the insanity/stupidity necessary to believe that the US was trying to de-escalate, in any way, before this war? Expanding NATO to Russia’s door, via CIA-backed color revolutions, is how you pursue peace? Russia, China, Iran, India - the countries are not going to permit themselves to be “regime changed” by the rainbow reich.
European newspapers are still full of headlines trying to humiliate Putin. "This is why he's weak", "He's angry and upset" etc. None of these people (neither the press nor their audience) are able to handle actual reality, they just want never-ending emotional masturbation.

My biggest fear is a diversity hire with their finger on the button. Recall that when Russia‘s nuclear alert radar generated a false alarm in 1983, we were only spared a global nuclear Holocaust because one white dude trusted his instincts and didn’t report the “attack” to his superiors until he could verify. Picture that same situation happening in 2023, except the person in charge is a sub-100 IQ retard. We all fucking die.
Remember the whole thing about "dRUMP wants to build nooks, he r stoopit, lol"? What Trump was trying to do was refresh the tritium boosters on our warheads. Tritium has a 12 year half-life... all of our nukes are older. It's entirely possible that some of our older ICBM warheads would fizzle and give off lower yields.
I don't think any of us are qualified to say whether he is right or wrong. It probably depends on the definition of 'lost', as I expect Ukraine will ultimately cede some territory, regardless of whether they recognize the Russian claim to it or not.
Certainly, I would consider only losing Crimea to be a victory for Ukraine, given that Russia already had control of it in 2014, and what Russia has spent trying secure it eastern Ukraine.
Losing Donbas and Luhansk...? That's a loss in my book, but if you considered that territory lost to pro Russian seperatists in 2014, then I suppose you could conside simply not losing more to be a win.
Of course, you can argue that any loss of territory is a loss for Ukraine, particularly as it puts Russia in a better position to invade again in the future.
