Pedophiles seem to often be women just as much as men but the women get off much easier by the system. One could probably look at the crime statistics to see the prevalence of actual pedo molestation (not child porn) between men and women. It wouldn't shock me to find they're similar but also I suspect men are in fact higher mostly because a lot of female pedophiles don't get reported.
Still, if you're picking someone to look after your kids, the question of who you pick is going to come down to a lot more than gender.
