I mean, my sister does that but its to help keep the little fella warm. He is a very small dog and refuses to go outside without it on in the winter
The "bird flu" excuse is just that ... an excuse to "cull the herd" to make meat/eggs more expensive.
Nothing more, nothing less.
An upside is that it may direct more people to buy free-range eggs. If you're going to pay premium prices for eggs, they might as well be worth it.

The interesting thing was... the chicken/bird flu and pig flu didnt even make the usa panic at all.. the bird flu was dropping people in china.
Also when there were cases of ebola, we let people from those countries in. Including that nurse.
