The cancel culture around him ended up failing and is now on Heard as no one wants to see a film with her in it.
Since he was the central reason ANYONE went to those films, they wisely ditched the female sequel they had planned and can't afford a Depp return so are shelving it to cut losses and still have a franchise they can sell merchandise about.
Disney can cancel the dozen or so woke films and bring back johnny depp lol. 1 pirate of carribean movie would make more money than 12 queer biracial movies.
