Oh wow another movie about slavery in the U.S. Now let’s do a movie about slavery in the non western world. Starting with Africa or Ottoman Empire.
Could you imagine a movie about the savagery of the eunuch trade?
Would be interesting if someone had the guts to make it
You should've gone with "I doubt anyone has the balls to do that".
Something interesting. So, starting pretty early on in the Ottoman Empire (~500 years ago or so), it became the common practice that black eunuchs were in charge of the Sultan's harem. There were other eunuchs, and many, many slaves from Europe, the Middle East, India, etc., but the eunuchs in charge of the harem were only black Africans.
The Ottomans purchased black eunuchs from Coptic Christians who lived in Upper Egypt (that's southern Egypt). The Ottoman court kept buying eunuchs until the end of the sultanate, right around World War I.
Or about the Palestinians denied rights in Israel
nobody gives a shit about the Palestinians. They took their shot and lost and have been angry genocidal maniacs ever since. Let them rot.
You think the Americans are financing Isreal because of the Palestinians?
No amount of lighting tricks could make his wife not look bald.
Or stop him from being the most famous cuckold in Hollywood
Keep Will Smith's wife out your fucking mouth!
That's reserved for her boyfriend.
This is beyond hilarious, the entire movie is shot with crazy lighting to make Smith look black lol
They couldn't just hire RDJ's makeup artist from Tropic Thunder and use normal lighting?
They must have had to cast the entire movie around the special lighting.
That would be too simple, besides using blackface on a black dude is racist somehow.
"I am slave"
"I am blackface"
Get off the climbing frame, Justin.
Of course they did.
American blacks aren't African. By definition, they aren't going to be the same color as actual sub-saharan africans.
They certainly aren't according to Africans which is always a cold shock to Americans.
Africans to American Blacks: "Get out here whitey. No colonizers."
Not really a big deal to me to make a black guy look like a grimy slave when that's the role he's playing.
Oof. Imagine if the producers try that excuse. :D
If you showed people pictures of Elon Musk next to Will Smith, and asked "which one is African," you wouldn't need to do trickery with the lighting to get 100% of respondents to pick Will Smith. Even if that response is "technically incorrect."
