Empty, vindictive and otherwise cruel hearings and investigations
Oh, like the 57th attempt to impeach a President? That kind of empty and vindictive, or is it only "empty and vindictive" when people you don't have a cheerleading spot for go and do that kind of thing?
Signal confusion. Progressives have used performative hysteria as a manipulation tactic for so long that now election losses trigger actual mental anguish within them.
On the flip side, we’ve now firmly associated election wins with causing mental anguish in our political opponents, so that their mental anguish signals progress to us.
The end result is that they legitimately always think the sky is falling, and we think their self-imposed suffering is our constant victory. In the end, they are miserable and winning, we are fulfilled and losing.
Self induced hysteria. This is the same reason psychologists say ptsd can be triggered by anything because some people are completely irreconcilable with reality anymore. They truly believe we are nazis coming to attack them and suffer self induced anguish according to the desperation they believed starving Jews and Slavs going to gas chambers felt.
Ironically, their mental health would actually improve if there actually were evil not-seens roving around attacking their in-group. It would signal their predictor was successful, giving them many positive brain chemical feedbacks, relax them, and and increase their net happiness... Even though their situation would be obviously and clearly objectively worse.
Brain health works in really dumb ways. Our increased analytic potential actually makes Skinner-Box training easier to do on humans than on pigeons. We are easier to train into being fooled and deceived than pigeons.
