First one of the new trilogy was good. Second one was decent, but only because of the very high number of kills, as not much else worthwhile was going on.
The latest and hopefully last one completely missed the mark for me.
All of it is caused by one major problem, but revealing it would spoil everything. Considering how the previous one ended it does not make any sense either.

Edit: read the synopsis. So Jamie Lee Curtis successfully kills Michael Meyers, once and for all, and then goes on to live a happy life having overcome her trauma. It’s a quintessential girl power ending. They even hint at her falling in love with that cop. Because that’s what horror audiences want to see. Geriatric romance.

Only film I've actually gone to the cinema to see in years, was good but for home release, enjoyment might vary depending on if you have surround sound or not for jet sequences.

My review is Maverick is only OK, which is about as good as we can expect from corporate entertainment these days.

My theory: leftist creators subscribe to inverted morality and value systems, and this bleeds through into their work. As a result, leftist creations often feel bizarre and alien in ways most people cannot articulate. Critics chalk this up to incompetence when, in truth, your brain is noticing what is essentially an immoral incursion into your world. The characters and plot don’t make sense because your mind is moral and rational. To the immoral and the irrational leftists, their own stories make perfect sense.
Having been subjected to an unending onslaught of such backwards content for years on end, people react to the sudden appearance of a movie that just “makes sense” as if it were water in a desert. Your body and mind are basking in the reassuring presence of media that affirms goodness, beauty, and truth.
All of this is happening on a subconscious level for most viewers.

Awful garbage. They really thought F13 Part V was a good concept. The film was a historically bad horror sequel. They were fixated on a copy cat dweeb character when they really just should have had Myers on his final killing spree. Laurie should have gone insane with every gun, knife and improvised weapon... All while showing her granddaughter how to get it done. End could be the same with the trash shredder.
The second one, 'Hollywood Kills', was garbage. There was nothing decent about it. It was slapstick dumb.
They remade Halloween 2 by putting Laurie in the hospital the whole time. That was the worst part of the sequel back in the 70s/80s... And they just repeated it. Halloween Kills was "mob justice" the movie. They removed their best character and had a bunch of idiots running around. It was awful.
It figured Ends would suck... But they somehow made it worse than Kills.
All they needed was a simple story of Myers final kill spree and Laurie going Rambo Sarah Connor on him with everything that was setup in the 2018 movie. She has the skillset and barely used it in the final act of that movie. We could have had her kicking ass with her granddaughter the whole movie and finally killing him. It is such an obvious direction to take... Like Holy shit they failed so badly.
It was low-budget eighties dumb. It would only be watchable in a time before the information age, without internet and memes encouraging people to watch mind-numbingly bad stuff in order to score political points.
Also, the ending of Hollywood (2018) had a feminist subtext, making any sequel intrinsically bad, because feminists just can't help themselves. Her daughter was insufferable and Laurie was a very obvious Sarah Connor clone in the first. Together they would have been ham central.
