Or just make sure people are doing their job. If you check up and they are logged in working 8 hours a day amd performing who gives a fuck? If they have only one job but they aren't doing it then fire them. If they show up to the office but spend all day chatting them they suck. I never understand how places that have zero clue what is going on survive, WFH or no.
That said I think WFH decreases productivity. But you should know exactly how much.
Yeah it's called 'moonlighting' well back before our time moonlighting was considered a super heinous act as an employee. I think the mind frame at the time was you as a business owner were trying to tap your employee for the most amount of potential you could get out of them and you can't do that if they're working for another job.
Um but work culture has totally changed... people see you need to put food on the table and folks want to grow in life.... which is why imo equifax going all 1940s is wild it me...............
Holy shit that was exactly their mind frame........."including in many cases their own admission that they had a secondary full-time position, which prevented them from fulfilling their full time obligations to Equifax."
It's a ton of independent workers doing quick contracts because all the AI and tech means the company only needs to be three people and a dog to work. It's happening everywhere.
Uh oh, remote workers have accidentally exposed that large part of the modern economy are just facades hiding empty space, can't have that
Seriously, have you seen those office daycare jobs they give to women? It would be very easy to do ten of those at once remotely
Totally agreed. I've thought about taking one on just because it'd be nice to pull in the extra salary while doing a real job
99% of the “work” they do is policing other people who do the actual work.
Its like driving with the handbrake on
You got it. This is what the problem is and ending work from home is a fine ol solution.

Wow
Company loyalty is also at a low because it's easier to move up by going from company to company than moving up the ladder slowly
There is no ladder anymore, it’s hop scotch with hopes your lateral move outpaces inflation

I wonder if this is in part caused by the fact that we've become a low trust society or if it's simply a correlation.
We've become a 'squeeze and hang out to dry' society.
Honestly I'm demoralized and kinda ready for all to be over today.
No way I am working 2 jobs for someone else.
You don't work 2 jobs, you get paid for 2, and barely do any work for any one. Its the modern work environment.
If its good for every director on a board......
