Eu needs to be restructured from the ground up. A unified Europe is not a bad idea but the way it is currently implemented is insane. I wish more people would understand how bad the system is.
Both the US and EU share the same core structural problem. Not sure we can call it a "flaw" since it's by design of the elites. They are quasi-socialist inverted empires where central banks control the currency and dole it out to dependent states. In past empires the conquered regions had to pay tribute to the capitol to avoid destruction. Now the capitol gives everyone - both the constituent states and their citizens - "free" money to keep them in line. You will never have sovereign nations when such a practice is allowed, but it's almost impossible to break free from once it begins. One saving grace is that it's all based on fiat currency that will eventually collapse.
At least the UK was wise enough to keep their own currency.
The central banks only "give" money after they conjure it out of thin air. As long as they're still conjuring fiat dollars from nothing, they're only "giving" you back part of what they stole through inflation
This does seem to be a gaffe, as even the parties the ragged thing wanted to benefit seem to want any part of it.
Even Matteo Renzi, the EU-friendly, liberal leader of the Italia Viva party, asked von der Leyen “not to enter into Italian affairs in the slightest.”
“I’m sure she will clarify her sentence,” said a more lenient Enrico Letta, who leads the center-left democratic party. He assured Italian voters that “there is no blackmail from the EU.”
If this seeming judgment is correct, it basically seals the deal for the right - which was already leading in the polls.
Let's see if "elections" make a change for a change.
Since you're bringing it up again, remember when I challenged you to demonstrate that the current troubles have anything at all to do with your obsession, and you failed utterly?
You mean like you failed to understand that the warning was about the Lega + FI anti-sanction coalition taking power in your other comment.
Ah, I see you magically became an expert on Italian politics, with your usual dose of... getting everything wrong. How do you think that woman you hate so much will become PM? With the support of the right-wing coalition, which includes... Lega and FI!
Printing money, especially for the unproductive who can't contribute to pay it back, is economic suicide.
You're not even trying to demonstrate that the tax hikes you blamed on Hungary's pro-life policies are the result of that? How typical of the guy who blamed the collapse of the Roman Empire on a bachelor tax.
Yes, that's how politics works in Italy. Singular parties never win, so the whole left unites and the whole right unites. It's you who doesn't understand. But coalitions rarely give any voice to the junior partner except one or two little issues each. You can look into the ill-fated Five Star Movement's recent history to see that.
But coalitions rarely give any voice to the junior partner except one or two little issues each.
What are you talking about? The complaint in countries like Israel is that the smallest parties end up ruling the roost. Hell, that Bennett character was from one of the smallest parties!
/u/TheImpossible1 Dying for your take on this. Who is the representative of the 'More Feminine' Whatever here? The female candidate who will likely become PM in Italy, or Von Der Leyen who is trying to sabotage her in favor of one of her dogs?
Also, please predict your usual "male suicides will rise by 50% now that a woman becomes PM".
It's the journey that's the fun though! He's like Falstaff in that respect, in that he'll make up the most outrageous things. I know you think I sperg out about him or whatever, but honestly, I think the world is robbed in not having him as a beloved comedian.
I've been in enough MRA, "manosphere" what ever places to have seen his kind by the dozens. They don't add anything interesting other than drag the movement down, and they eventually get henpecked into a seething in secret beta husband.
His only unique trait is his seemingly unflappable demeanor. For all his hate and paranoia, he remains quite stoic in his responses. Wherein others are easily enraged to a point of frothing usually.
Which, I do compliment him on. I know from experience that dealing with being "that guy who hates women" isn't easy in a community, nor is dealing with you long term.
I view it as a challenge to get him to wring himself into ever more elaborate twists and turns.
If that's your idea of a challenge then you really live life on easy mode. That's as easy to do as asking "what's your actual plan."
He said that the war in Ukraine was forced by Zelensky's actions. Berlusconi is known to be at least formerly a friend of Putin, who he personally invited to the Sochi Winter Olympics. You don't check your facts, do you?
Both of them. What better way to ensure your opposition fails than to lead it?
He said that the war in Ukraine was forced by Zelensky's actions
Bit of an absurdity, but then again, Russiabots are generally no more objective than are Ukrainebots. Ukraine, NATO and the US are to blame - it is not due to Z. personally.
Both of them. What better way to ensure your opposition fails than to lead it?
LOL! Why is Von der Leyen sabotaging her fellow female of the opposite sex? Surely, there is some devious plot. Maybe this is an attempt to make Italian voters angry and vote for the Nazi out of spite?
Why is Von der Leyen sabotaging her fellow female of the opposite sex?
She isn't. Did you read the article? The other right wing parties are pushing for Italy to get out of the sanctions and do what's best for their people.
She's saying don't elect them, elect the puppet who will keep Ukraine going.
Meloni is pro-feminism, against leaving the EU and pro-Ukraine.
I'm sure you definitely didn't make up that 'pro-feminism' part.
The thing the EU fears most is her as the junior partner to a Lega-led coalition, where she has no voice, but the votes keep power off the PD.
Wait, so you simultaneously claim that she's perfectly lined up on policy with the left, and yet she'd join a Lega-led coalition? Why, Sir John Falstaff?
No, she literally said she wants to increase state benefits given to women.
Because she will have a chance of winning next election if she shuts up and waits. Otherwise you have the disaster that is the constantly collapsing coalitions, which usually get all parties involved a far lower vote total.
That's why she leads this election, because Lega forced their last coalition apart to call a snap election when they were looking like the first Italian party to win without a coalition, which didn't happen because the President appointed a new leader of the PD-5Star coalition for "stability".
It is basically Soviet Union 2.0. Poland is fighting the wrong enemy, it will have a nasty surprise in a few years.
My heart burns for the gallant Poles, who are for the third time being crushed by Germany on their left and Russia on their (metaphorical) right.

C'mon people. You don't want to be like Hungary, do you? If you vote the wrong way, we may be forced to declare your state a non-democracy.
Make the right choice.

Completely bankrupt and still pissing away productive people's money bribing women to have kids in a recession with 66% inflation on food?
Since you're bringing it up again, remember when I challenged you to demonstrate that the current troubles have anything at all to do with your obsession, and you failed utterly?
Oh God will you two just rent a hotel room and fuck already?
Oh hell no. I only like twinks, and he's 6'6"...
He can identify as someone shorter, you bigot.
I'll get the leg shortening axe.
Spoilers: it's a normal axe that identifies as a multi-purpose tool..
You mean like you failed to understand that the warning was about the Lega + FI anti-sanction coalition taking power in your other comment.
I think it's pretty obvious, given that only the leaders of those two parties have ever met Putin.
Printing money, especially for the unproductive who can't contribute to pay it back, is economic suicide.

Imagine caring more about "money" than caring about your people. There is no nation without people.
Well, little kids starving to death isn't a good thing.
Maybe you should get your food prices under control before trying to grow the population?
Those Germans are at it again!

Just their elites. The regular people are too busy guilt tripping and getting stepped on.

Literally dragging him out to start the slap fight is pretty petty my guy. Was the 12 other daily ones not enough?
Antonio "Pretty & Petty" Of Venice
I was honestly curious what he would say. This guy fascinates me. But I don't object to pettiness either.
Probably the same things he always says. His schtick is pretty predictable as it works backwards from the conclusion he always has.
It's the journey that's the fun though! He's like Falstaff in that respect, in that he'll make up the most outrageous things. I know you think I sperg out about him or whatever, but honestly, I think the world is robbed in not having him as a beloved comedian.

Really? I honestly thought he was sui generis. I have never seen his like, but I've only ever frequented GG and GG-adjacent communities.
I view it as a challenge to get him to wring himself into ever more elaborate twists and turns.

That's fine, feel free to be alpha as fuck by voting for Beto.
Suit yourself, Your Alphaness. I'm just puzzled.
The figure close to Putin isn't Meloni, it's Silvio Berlusconi.
He said that the war in Ukraine was forced by Zelensky's actions. Berlusconi is known to be at least formerly a friend of Putin, who he personally invited to the Sochi Winter Olympics. You don't check your facts, do you?

????????
Wait, you think this was an endorsement of the leading right-wing candidate.
You always settle on the craziest possible. Even "this is reverse psychology" would have been less crazy.
Meloni is pro-feminism, against leaving the EU and pro-Ukraine.
They line up perfectly on policy. This is an endorsement of continuing the current world order.
The thing the EU fears most is her as the junior partner to a Lega-led coalition, where she has no voice, but the votes keep power off the PD.

Italian politics is a meme.
Ian Fleming himself wouldn't have come up with a more James Bond villain-esque name.
I'm not sure the EU believes in "domestic politics"
