I support Russia, now. Let them all eat yellow cake.

Ukrainians should express unending gratitude for all the help they have been given.

Ukrainians whining for more and trying to shame the West for not doing more are ungrateful shits. Someone should tell this dumb bitch to watch her mouth.

I disagree. In fact, they should be angry about the fact that the flower of their youth is being sacrificed to American and EU imperialism and world hegemony. A few pennies thrown their way (which mostly benefits the military-industrial complex in the US) does not justify the loss of so many lives.

The point is not to shame the Western oligarchies. This puppet state does nothing that they do not command. The point is to move the Overton window. By portraying the wholesale wrecking of the European economy as 'not enough', they can pretend that what the European governments are doing at the expense of their people is some sort of middle ground.

Ukraine was going to fight anyway. It wasn't like the West had to convince them. The aid from the West only gave them much higher odds of winning. Though even without help, Ukraine would have still stopped the initial Russian advance. Though without US help, in particular intel + HIMARS, UKR probably would not have totally halted all Russian advances and progress in the last 60 days like they have. Blowing up lots of ammo dumps and HQs has disrupted Russia's ability to keep up the pressure.

This puppet state

If they are puppets, why are they allowed to speak ill of their puppet masters?

You could always just surrender, and they'd have no reason to go on killing people.

That's what the French figured in World War II, after losing over a million men in World War I only to have Germany rise again after 20 years.

Of course, they should have acted long before 1939, as they could easily have killed the Nazis in the crib, but by the time they signed the armistice, with the bulk of the army surrounded - nothing could be done.

The French wouldn't have had that problem if they hadn't gleefully cheered for the economic sanctions imposed by the other Great Powers on Germany after WWI, without which the Nazis would never have gained power.

The Western-Ukrainian military-industrial complex wouldn't have the problem they're currently having if they had resisted the urge to keep poking Russia like a couple of naughty schoolchildren pelting the teacher's back with spitwads.

In both cases, it seems the rest of us get to keep paying for their absolute hubris.

The French wouldn't have had that problem if they hadn't gleefully cheered for the economic sanctions imposed by the other Great Powers on Germany after WWI, without which the Nazis would never have gained power.

Alternatively, if they had just enforced the Versailles settlement, it also would not have happened. Simply sending two divisions into the Rhineland in 1936 would possibly have led to the fall of the Nazi regime. Fighting for the Sudeteneland probably would have led to a military coup.

It's pretty rich for the Germans to intentionally and willfully start a war, kill over a million Frenchmen, do enormous amounts of damage to the country, and then cry about peace conditions that were far less onerous than the ones they themselves imposed on Russia. (Then again, France was not severely punished in 1814, despite wreaking havoc for more than two decades.)

I am not at all sure that a mild peace would have prevented World War II. It may have just accelerated it. Germans were not reconciled to defeat, because their armies were deep in France - hence the stab in the back legend.

The Western-Ukrainian military-industrial complex wouldn't have the problem they're currently having if they had resisted the urge to keep poking Russia like a couple of naughty schoolchildren pelting the teacher's back with spitwads.

Correct. Ironically, there is an analogy between Germany and Russia, in that the post-1991 settlement was like Versailles but with much less justification, instead a punishment people who according to George Kennan who peacefully accomplished the greatest feat of the 20th century, the overthrow of communist totalitarianism.

If Ukraine had enforced the Minsk agreements and not shelled ethnic Russians for the last eight years, this whole war could have been avoided. If Zelensky hadn't pussyfooted around pretending like he might join NATO instead of assuring Russia that Ukraine would remain neutral, this war would not have happened.

I was gonna say to Mrs Olenski or whatever is you guys deserve it. Her most of all. The Kiev government got what they had coming. The people obviously less so.

Now British government had the energy crisis coming too. The embrace of green ideology gets you frozen to death in a cold climate. The people need to off with some heads to shape up the govt a bit.

Marie Antoinette never said that. That was anti-royalist propaganda.

She actually never said that at all. It was just an apocryphal tale of a princess saying something like that, which existed before she was even born, and which then attached itself to her.

I'm aware that Marie Antoinette didn't talk about the Ukrainian war.

Dear God, you're thick. Obviously, that's referring to the only quote by MA that people know.
