That's my take as well. The photo is cringe, and it's weird if this is the trend politics is going in, but she still seems better than every Democrat and most old Republicans. Cringe aside, she actually seems pretty cool, and you're right that we'd probably be better off, as sad as that may be, if more politicians were like her. This says more about politicians than her, but her winning did make the political landscape better, not worse, from what I can tell.

I'm not quite sure what your point is, but there are a few things to point out. First, Bush v Gore was R v D. My focus, although I can see how it's not completely clear, was mostly just on one party. She's making the Republican party at least slightly better, in my opinion. Which does make the whole landscape better as well, though. Secondly, as someone deeply critical of Bush...him winning that election was still a win and, yes, Republicans were happy with it. It just seems weird to even ask; yes, Republicans were happy the Republican candidate won and, as someone else already pointed out, Gore would have been disastrous. I think Bush was a monster, but I still think it's better than he was president than Gore, or Kerry for that matter. In hindsight, at least. At the time I probably would have had almost anyone but Bush.
Everyone's hating (and for good reasons), but she still seems decent. The photo is pretty cringe, but her claimed stances seem good, from what I've seen. Cringy photo? Sure. I'd still take her over every Democrat, and most of the old guard Republicans. You can't get much worse, after all, so I'm willing to look past the cringe and welcome some more young blood into the fight, at least until she does something dumb like support red flag laws, censorship, or similar.
