I'm not quite sure what your point is, but there are a few things to point out. First, Bush v Gore was R v D. My focus, although I can see how it's not completely clear, was mostly just on one party. She's making the Republican party at least slightly better, in my opinion. Which does make the whole landscape better as well, though. Secondly, as someone deeply critical of Bush...him winning that election was still a win and, yes, Republicans were happy with it. It just seems weird to even ask; yes, Republicans were happy the Republican candidate won and, as someone else already pointed out, Gore would have been disastrous. I think Bush was a monster, but I still think it's better than he was president than Gore, or Kerry for that matter. In hindsight, at least. At the time I probably would have had almost anyone but Bush.
