Yes, the real scene referenced January 6th. Which makes especially little sense in Star Trek, since it would have been a few decades after the Eugenics Wars.

This was actually on Star Trek? Haven’t seen Nutrek but from what I’ve heard it would’ve surprise me. I’ve also heard Strange New Worlds isn’t so bad

From what I heard (haven't watched it myself), Gamergate wasn't brought up but BLM and Jan 6th were both mentioned as preludes to Star Trek's WW3.

Honestly, this gonna be the argument. GamerGate is a fixed point in time that is niche enough that no normie knows about it, but all the people who have been fighting the culture war can trace a lot of their awareness of these conflicts back to an unexpected consumer revolt.
