They needed a study for this ?
Of course it's harmful.
No one cares.
Bill Gates: don't drink alcohol, drink shit instead

"Everything in moderation".
Of course alcohol is bad for you. I've seen the results of what happens to people who treat beer as if it's a fit substitute for water; factory towns used to be full of them, all yelling incoherently at little kids to get off their lawns they don't have/own. As for the hard stuff, they don't call it rotgut for nothin'.
And of course, the "science" has been going back and forth on the matter since FOREVER. Literally. There are warnings against alcohol all throughout history just as much as there are poems praising how healthful wine and beer can be.
The whole Temperance movement wasn't just "women being bitches". It can all be traced back to DOCTORS of the War of 1812, who believed that rationing a quart of hard booze (rum for the Brits/Canadians, and whiskey for the Americans) every day was good for both health and morale (well, morale, maybe). Of course, this resulted in an entire generation of North American men becoming alcoholics. And back then, there were, of course, no age laws (no way to prove your age, anyway), so they passed on their bad habits to their sons.
Tell me, why did Huck Finn take his ride down the river again? Oh, yeah, coz his busybody Karen of an auntie didn't think he should be drinking and smoking at his age ....
So, yeah, the Temperance movement was just as much about drunken kids as anything else. The reaction should have been age laws right out the gate, not total prohibition. Dumbasses going from one extreme straight to the other again.
Spin on a few decades, they're still waffling between "2 drinks a day is OK" to "alcohol is the devil" - and they're using that "the brain isn't "fully formed" until 25" nonsense ... well, guess what, the brain changes all through life.
I'm far more suspicious of those who would take it away outright than those who would preach responsible use.
So you're "risking your health" if you drink more than 10 ml of wine, which is 1/75 of a bottle.
It's amazing - how did all those people throughout history survive, without people hectoring them ostensibly about "health"?
Because we are only allowed the extremes in our political climate. It's either healthy at any size or if something makes you even 1% less "healthy" you must ban it.
Honestly, alcohol is probably one of the worst drugs kids are regularly exposed to, excluding maybe tobacco.
Even then, I think that most kids aren't exposed to psychiatric drugs. Damn near all of them encounter weed, tobacco, and alcohol. Many are exposed, but not most.
Even then, I don't think that even the most commonly distributed psychiatric drug to children is as dangerous as alcohol.
Fucking temperance doctors. Their puritanical standards of "healthy" juicing and their hysterical definition of "alcoholic" means NOTHING.
Booze with some moderation is a godsend.
I will drink 10 beers this evening over cards, before dinner, laughing at these Carrie Nation Puritans.
It's a trade-off, like everything else. You have to weigh the negative long-term health effects against the positive, and there is not much more positive in my book than a good beer buzz with some fine cannabis thrown in.
And when did that asshole Gates become the go-to medical expert? I suppose he bought his way into it.
Of course it's fucking bad for you. We don't need a study to know that. But some people find it enjoyable to drink, and they're big boys. They're fully capable of deciding for themselves whether the fun outweighs the health risks. I'm a very light drinker myself but a drink can be relaxing when you're really tense as long as you don't overdo it. The only reason this is news is because they see it as an opportunity to control men.
You mean alcohol is not a health food?
I'd like a second opinion from Justice Kavanaugh.
Alcohol lowers inhibition, this may lead to people being more outspoken about things and maybe even higher fertility rates. Neither of this things are a desired outcome for the left.
