That’s what I’m saying, Top Gun Maverick was made entirely for entertainment of the consumer. Tom Cruise knows his audience very well and knows that selling to the general public is the best money maker. That’s why he filmed a personal introduction to the movie. It’s pretty apparent that the actors with f u money arent joining the woke agenda. It’s the contract actors that keep spewing the bs.
Cruise is literally the personal living Jesus of Scientology. He is above wokeness and any consequence for any action he ever commits.
That frees him to do whatever the fuck he wants, and clearly he just wants to have fun for himself with wacky stunts and action. We just benefit from that.
His decision to wait and release it in theaters was 100% the correct choice. The movie would not be the same without the big screen and audience experience. Go see it in IMax if you haven't.
He’s one of the last great moviestars who actually loves his profession and gives 110% in all of his roles. Say what you want about his craziness with Scientology and all that… you have to respect people who are good at what they do and don’t make compromises for <current thing>.
But that's the thing, 'woke' almost always correlates with 'shit', even if it's not the woke part that makes it shit. The type of person obsessed with virtue signaling isn't the type of person capable of making great entertainment.
Lightyear bombed because people were already pissed and alienated over Toy Story 4. They had lost their entire audience before production began, and then decided to make the most generic looking CGI fest possible.
The woke preachy bullshit was the only chance it had to succeed. They had zero other demographic to appeal to.
Yeah, but it's still military industrial complex propaganda, right as war is back on the menu with the Ukraine vs Russia situation. Regarding media, it's better than woke shit, but that doesn't mean it's good either.
Are we ignoring the years of buildup? Regardless, I'm not saying that it was perfectly timed, just that it lines up with the culmination of rising international tensions that were almost definitely going to result in a conflict somewhere that the States were going to (want to) get involved in.
So, you're telling me, that if you want to cash in on nostalgia for some old IP, it's a good idea letting people create your cash-in that don't hate the original? Nah, can't be, destroying everything people like about the original and replace it with things that nobody but the mentally ill care about is the way to profit.
The majority of the money that the film made is going to go towards pro-abortionist initiatives and the attempts at reinstating Roe v. Wade. That and other progressive causes.
This isn't some victory. It's Hollywood throwing a bone to fools who proudly opened their wallets to indirectly fund progressive causes and Democrat candidates, all because the film was pseudo-patriotic.
It’s not surprising, for all Tom Cruise gets wrong he understands entertainment very well.
His movies are always good quality.
It's almost like he knows the audience and wants to make movies for them, instead of demanding people watch some retarded tranny bullshit

He's more than happy to go off on a rant at film crews and demand they wear masks, however.
that was some insurance thing they'd gotten in trouble for already

I am ok with benefitting from any good produced by people with the power and money to make everyone's life grand or hell tbh
Some of the money that this film made is going to go towards helping fund and support "retarded tranny bullshit".

And huge kudos to him for wearing the taiwan patch on his jacket
Even that lame attempt at a Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe a.k.a. The Mummy?

Grudgingly good for Cruise. I still have no money left for Hollywood...

Production on the movie started long before Russia invaded. It also wrapped before the invasion.
