It was barely a blip on the radar, but looking this up, and watching some of the trial, I don't think Depp was completely innocent, but it was clearly obvious who the aggressor was.
The medical professionals she went to testified she didn't have any injury whatsoever.
Her lawyer ponctuated the whole trial drilling the witnesses about how they couldn't be sure Amber wasen't always caked in 3 layers of make-up to explain why nobody ever saw an injury or swelling from the "alleged broken bones".
I have been listening to the full thing now that its over (through Rekieta Law), and its actually kind of absurd. So many of Amber's witnesses just run with basing their testimony on "Well, she told me this" and not going any further than that. And most of them have been just as batty as her (like the hilariously biased psychiatrist who diagnosed Amber with PTSD by misusing the test). And like you said, she was arguing "I did all of these things to hide the abuse" while also arguing "Its a sign of oppression that no one knew I was being abused." Meanwhile, the only abuse that actually had video, audio, and witnesses to back it up was Johnny.
But she will never let this go. She cant. Not in a million years.
If allegedly-someone shattered a bottle inside her uterus, and she shrugged it off, not even a walk-in-clinic visit or buying a single bottle of disinfectant, let alone surgery and/or scans, actually out partying the next day... Then I'm pretty sure she's a super-mutant who could likely just walk out of any max-security prison, ignoring the gunfire coming from the guards.
So she's either a societal monster that won't stop lying, or just an actual monster.
Well her entire case required Depp to have been lying. And since most people including the jury thinks Depp was telling the truth she is going to have to maintain he was lying to just save face. No one who loses a court case ever really admits defeat.
