It's not a popular opinion here, but you're not wrong. Truckers were threatening a strike the entire duration of covid and they never did anything, except in fucking Canada of all places. Lots of bluster and bravado, but rarely do they actually do anything. They're all part of a union, and all union leaders are owned by the DNC. They know how long their leash is.
Its the constant case of no one man wants to risk his comfort zone by committing to action, and they need a lot of men to make that choice before it would accomplish anything.
For those who are bad at math the average salary in the US is just under 52k a year before tax. The average cost to fill a 13 gallon tank is now around 65 dollars. A basic use algorithm would be 2 fills a month. So $1,560 for just gas a year, not including skyrocketing insurance costs and maintenance. This is intentional pricing out of low incomes from independent mobility. I CAN GUARANTEE THERE ARE ALREADY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION PIECES ALL OVER. This game is frankly pathetic.
I've been complaining about JIT for years, but all the "industry professionals" kept telling me how wonderful it is and all my fears are overblown. Even now that we're in the middle of the JIT death spiral, wasting billions if not trillions of dollars globally, they're all insisting that these issues could simply not be avoided no matter what.
I hope that in 10-20 years, we'll look back at JIT as the mistake of corporate greed and hubris it is.
Plastics are often using petroleum derivatives or by products of the refinning process.. so makes sense that plastics getting expensive to manufacture and to ship.
I don't think we've had the mass layoffs that we had in 2008 yet. Some industries might have had them, but IIRC back in 2008 it was pretty much an across the board haircut.
Truckers are also starting to say things are about to go tits up sideways.
Truckers bitch about everything.

Even in Canada, the only truckers that showed up in Ottawa at the convoy protest were the independent ones that owned their own trucks.
All the foreigners and the wage slave truckers just kept on working and bending the knee to their employers and Trudeau.
My libtard coworker still blaming Putin.
There people are fucking hopeless.
Saw a FB meme from normie friends making fun of the Biden gas stickers. As if he's not the one responsible for closing down the pipeline.

It's causing headache after headache to deal with, but I'm getting no small satisfaction from watching what is happening to the JIT cult.
Speaking of food recalls did you hear about the Hep A strawberries?

And free checks from the government.

That’s coming.
Why would Trump do this?
Russia is losing, so... /s
