For me this is Taliban level of primitive behavior.

Mad at his girlfriend: smashes up ancient artifacts. wtf is going on, all respect has been cancelled and degeneracy is the rule.

Yeah I was excited at first because I thought it was going to be modern art, sad to hear it was ancient art.

Imagine the degeneracy at the time, that such laws were needed.

Today's society is a good mirror to realize that, rather than think it was the "barbaric laws".

The degeneracy was so bad that even tougher laws were in place. They'd torture people for stealing, or rip out a man's eye for looking at another man's wife. Hammurabi was a progressive. He said, "Wait, that's not fair. You can only take an eye for an eye."

It's been downhill from there.

We should bring back corporal punishment in a big way for crimes like this. They want to be famous, let them get their names in the papers for being on the receiving end of a brutal caning.

Absolutely agree.

Public flogging in the town square. With the people getting to see what happens when you break the law.

It'll take a lot of strain off the penal system and it'll free up court time.

"How do you plead? Guilty? Yes! Very good. 30 lashes of the birch, no appeal. Disrespect the court? Another 20!"

Logical conclusion to allowing people to indiscriminately deface public monuments. All public good can be smashed.

What is the slippery slope?

Ffs if you're going to go on a rampage why can't you attack your boyfriend or girlfriend like a civilized person. I mean really...
