The good thing about all these companies turning into leftists and/or virtue-signalling retards is, I no longer feel bad pirating stuff. Saves a ton of money.
Plus, now that I pirate things, I don't feel compelled to finish it if I'm not loving it, like I did when spending hard-earned cash on it. Saves a ton of time.
I did that as well. I kinda stick to Satisfactory, Factorio, Afterlife, Cities: Skylines, Red Dead: Online or Diablo III though. shrug Occasionally, I'll put another cartridge in the machine. Children of Morta is surprisingly good, and Starbound is in my top 5 of playtimes and over 1k hours.
I can see how it would make more sense for them, but it's still a stupid move for a few reasons pointed out in those comments. Either way, they will have a new Russian-friendly neighbor soon. It will be nice if GOG can survive. If they don't they only have themselves to blame.
Lots of cracks and emulators to circumvent DRM come from Russians. Even if you buy your games it's wise to have some of them to make sure you can still play your games when you lose access to your DRM-platform account.
Plus, a lot of pirate sites (not just games) are Russian.
I'd consider not buying anything from them on principle but I haven't been able to pay for anything through their payment processor for a few months. Last purchase was in July but I first encountered my current issue in November or December.

I've reached that point when game bundles got big and I bought more games than anyone can play in a lifetime :D

I'm one step ahead of you. Now I also have a political reason to help me sleep better at night.
Who am I kidding. Who can sleep, when there's high seas to sail??
My thoughts exactly. I am now on my third external drive...
Here's the Gaming post about this.

GOG will survive. There's plenty out there that just don't give a shit anymore.
The neighbour will be wrecked by forever insurgency unless they really pull the Red Terror (again).
It's just nonsensical. They should announce that all sales from Russia will go to the Ukrainian Red Cross or whatever.
...okay, I just realized they can't just sell games with active copyrights like that.
They could announce that their cut will go to the Ukrainian Red Cross.
Oh, that would work.
Can't they? OK, maybe there's some legal rationale that they can't do it directly, but there's nothing stopping GoG from saying :
Hmmm, ok, this past week we got $XXXX.XX in revenue from Russian sales. We are now choosing to make a donation to Ukranian Red Cross for $XXXX.XX
Yeah, yeah.
Oh no, what will all these Russian gamers do when online storefronts refuse to take their money in exchange for copies of digital goods....
This is great for us, too.

isn't fitgirl based in Russia?
Denying legit copies to the mayors of Tortuga, wise!
Looks like they are close to going back to being humble rat catcher.
Dropped.

doesnt the Russian Federation already have the highest quantity of internet piracy??
Looks like their "zero DRM" policy just went from being a reason to support them, to being a reason to use them as a catalogue for free games.

MOTHER RUSSIA IS SAVED! SEND LINK TO PUTIN IMMEDIATELY COMRADE.
That site looks interesting. Piracy got a lot more convenient it seems.
