I am surprised, a guy with tiny balls would have low testosterone levels (I assume) so that would make you a very bad warrior. If he managed to overcome that in order to become respected then props for him.
I doubt he thought himself as a women just because he had tiny balls.
Could also be that he was Prince Tinyballs, second son to King WhatsHisName, who just sat around doing nothing of import but got to carry a sword around because he was a prince. Definitely wouldn't be the first case of a thoroughly useless heir who accomplishes nothing of import during his or her life.
Maybe he had a chip on his shoulder that made him even more ferocious. Like a little guy who gets into MMA. He made those fuckers pay for making fun of his tiny balls.
Can't get kicked in the nuts if you don't have any 🤔
There's always the gooch.
That's when you start questioning the "might" in that statement about genetic makeup as much as the idea of somehow circumventing the effects of hormones on physical strength.
Amplifying the signal in degraded ancient DNA is notorious for just as often creating a lot of indecipherable noise. As someone noted in another comment, the sample tested was too badly degraded for any of the proven analytical techniques to work on, and they had to make up a new way of interpreting the data, and just so happened to get an implausibly unlikely but politically topical answer and got themselves published.
XXY isn't fucking "non-binary." The binary isn't between XX and XY; it's between having or not having at least one Y chromosome. In theory chimera are the only people that could be reasonably called "non-binary" but there's been only dozens identified and it's mostly just going to be someone with a chunk of their absorbed sibling's bone marrow or something insignificant like that.
But it feels good for non-binary ancient warriors to exist so it must be true. You just don’t understand the emotional logic of my truth.
Also, it’s time to rebuild in a more feminine way. Also, can we just divorce men yet without having to marry them? The marriage part is so annoying.
Already happened in Canada.
And, unfortunately, what happens in Canada does not stay in Canada.
Even if they come closer to the definition, those are disorders not genders.
I'm honestly curious how the fuck can they say he was nonbinary. There is no such thing as non-binary until now, you can claim maybe someone liked women garb, maybe? How would they even tell that, did they find an old document, in a period were very few people knew how to write, detailing how a specific warrior liked walking around in a dress?
That seems like bad fan fiction from a degenerate.
And the cultural appropriation of Tolkien continues unchecked.
Further destruction of science and reason for politics.
You see this in totalitarian oppressive societies like China and Russia. Not in free societies.
Uh huh… “novel”
"We need a new method of filling the gaps in the readings, any ideas Inga?"
"Have we ever tried just inserting random values until something matches a known pattern?"
"We used the complete DNA of a frog to fill in the holes and complete the code. And now, we can make a baby dinosaur."
there is no such thing as "non-binary"
i reject the premise.
According to the article, the scientists think (but can't confirm) that the person had Klinefelter's Syndrome, meaning that he has two X chromosomes and a Y. According to The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, 75% of those with KS are not diagnosed. Looking at pictures of people with KS, they don't seem particularly feminine. I don't think the medieval Finns considered this person anything other than male.
Klinefelter's are sterile males.
Being sterile doesn't mean people think you aren't a man. Given the times, they might think you're not much of one, but still a man.
