I think it's more just a natural human compulsion to dominate others through whatever means they can, not exactly psychopathically genocidal. However, to be clear, for example: If Texas formed it's own republic and was no longer part of the United States, and thereby because much more free, like the old US where people could pretty much do what they wanted, I 100% guarantee you that Texas WOULD be nuked because of the carbon emissions, gas usage, etc. That would be the only reason they would need for the vast majority of their supporters.
