It doesn't make a difference. They have guns, they just don't have their officers walking around with them at all times. All that accomplishes is that it makes the average officer more vulnerable, which the establishment doesn't give a fuck about.
If they think they need them, they'll bring them. Them not carrying them is merely an illusion of equality between the government and the people.
You're 4-5 times more likely to be murdered in the US than the UK. The UK has lots of issues brought about by the modern left - the mass rape of kids by feral sub humans being the most agregious - but actual murder, not so much. For now at least.

If you're not living in the bad parts of Chicago, LA, Baltimore, St. Louis, or any of these other shitholes, you're safer than living in the UK.
But if you're in one of those places, you're gonna have a bad time.
Hint: most of the U.S. isn't one of those places. Like, 99.9%+ of it isn't one of those places.
If you exclude all the really dangerous parts, the rest are safe? Who would have thought. Do you think that might also apply to the UK? Take out central London and the murder rate is probably 100 times lower. And that 99.9%, if true, applies to geography, not population, since those shitholes where everyone gets shot are also highly populated.
