An excellent point, but would that come after the destruction of farmer's markets? Or perhaps all non-processed foods would simply be taxed to hell and back? Or maybe even require a loicense to cook your own food?
Whoa whoa let's not give them any more ideas. In all seriousness, I could definitely see the farmer's market thing happening for real, sadly. There is a hugely popular one near where I live. All it would take is a 'muh covid' push to shut them down.
The Greens in Europe have been calling for a special tax on meat for a while.
There's also a huge push to increase prices of meat and other animal products like butter "because farmers don't make enough money". Of course they've shown time and time again that they don't give a shit about farmers. They just want to make meat unaffordable.
noodles being sold at a farmers market?
now i now how you americans feel when us eurofags talk about your countries politics!
not that i would ever defend the lamppost decoration over here, but jesus, get real.
genociding all the farmers for equity is far more realistic than them producing and selling pasta.
One the of the few occasions where cultural appropriation is deemed acceptable.
I really like this type of reporting:
spoke to Constantin Muraru from the international platform of insects for food and feed (IPIFF), an EU non-profit organisation which represents the interests of the insect production sector.
Concise, inline, explicit note about potential conflict of interest while strictly stating facts. I think it used to be called...journalism? Not common enough these days, so I appreciate it.
Said it before say it again. The future is Demolition Man.
Also, learn self sufficiency, teach your neighbours, get your small town to feed itself, water itself, defend itself.
They are buying the land while telling us private property will end. They are telling us to eat food and drink sewage as they will no doubt continue to eat "Real Food tm".
The WEF are brazen enough to tell you their plan. Atleast insulate yourselves.
Eh, I've never been against bugs as a potential alternative protein source, just the ridiculous pushing of it as some grand decision to save the environment. As long as its its appropriately processed for safety and labeled to allow consumer choice, go right ahead.
I still dont believe there is any possibility of an insect based food product being anything more than a gimmick for at least another decade, and even then it will be pricey specialty items like plant based stuff was 5-10 years ago. The ability to safely(!) produce insects on a sufficiently industrial scale to be profitable as anything other than a relatively expensive niche item simply isn't possible currently.
Insects are way more sketchy than GMO food, where they add a couple genes here and there, okay, but 99.9% is exactly the same as we've been eating since forever.
We've eaten some bugs like lobsters, I don't think we ever been eating insects as a major source of food since we were the size of rodents, so we haven't evolved to handle whatever doesn't sit well with our systems - maybe there isn't anything, but shouldn't be something we go all in on.
Still not green enough. They need to recycle the bodies of the dead, by processing them and turning them into chicken nuggets. Then we'll truly live in a utopian society.
What's wrong with bugs? I'd rather eat a patty made of crickets than one from a cow that suffered so horribly as to make the only possible way of enjoying it to firmly convince yourself animals cannot suffer.
Eat the bugs. Live in a pod. You will own nothing and be happy about it.
I will not eat the bugs. I will not live in a pod. I will not lick the boot. I will not suck the dick. I will own whatever I please.
Could you, would you in the rain? Would you could you on a train...
No I would not in the rain, and nor would I, on a train.
Now please cease this campaign, and do not, do not, ask again.
It’s all fun and games until big processed foods successfully lobbies eliminate labeling requirements

Oh please, they're way ahead of you.

seems to me like that sale should have immediately been invalidated when it was known that china was involved.
First step along the line of the plan to ban real meat sales (for the plebs).
mmmm, smells like famine

I think that's kinda false. Various ants and beetles have been a food source for some cultures for a long time.
I kind of admitted that when I said "like lobsters".
It's never been a primary food source, and certainly not for years at a time.
We're not going to eat a bug-burger and immediately go into spasms and croak, but long term immune and cancer problems are not out of the question.

SOYLENT GREEN IS.... a nutritious part of your great reset diet.
You'll have no choice on what you're fed, and you'll be happy!
ahhh corpsestarch
They watch this scene from The Matrix and think, "Wow what a cool idea!"
And if you were wondering if worms are kosher, guess what? They’re not.
Well I guess I know what us goys are going to have to subsist on when our small hat betters are dining on deli delights and Chinese food.

...Eh.
Is this really any different to grinding up beetles for food coloring?
