I'm of the opinion that if the country is counting on Trump to ride in on a white horse and save us in 2024 that's a super unrealistic expectation. But apparently the party thinks it's a threat because they really want to ensure he can't run.
Just make a damn amendment, "Donald John Trump cannot ever hold public office again."

This idea is absolutely ludicrous, and anyone who supports it will "have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same."

Just to preface this I'm about as big a Trump fan as one can get, but the next guy won't tweet "law and order" like a cuck he will enact law and order and he will be cheered for it.
I can only imagine what the remaining normal people of Portland (and wherever else is still having riots?) must think of the response ... oh, it's DC, so they care. But destroying shit elsewhere is fine and "peaceful protest". Anyone got a finger on the pulse of that kind of anger building up?
The rumour (so place what weight on it you will) is that McConnell is doing so to restore the RNC to it's pre-Trump status, and expects to be able to cull Trump loyalists from the RNC after Trump's impeached.

There's no process in the Fourteenth Amendment to declare someone had engaged in insurrection or rebellion, This is just jerking off.

That's the problem. The left's elites are fighting the last war. The right's elites don't fight at all.
