Whether you agree with the Trump/Biden fraud claims or not, perhaps we can all agree that Congress were well overdue a (non-violent) reminder of who is really in charge.

I don't think anyone on here really thinks Bidens 'win' was legitimate. Anyone who isn't a fake news fed midwit would have at least a suspicion of foul play. I agree though, long overdue, I hope it's the start of something bigger but realistically the west is to far gone by now.

I'm Italian, consensus here is that there was plenty of fuckery but the trumpers threw away their chances at actually having the fuckery addressed by entering the Capitol due to bad optics.

Lmao optics.

The entire process was a sham from start to finish. There were no chances. As we saw last night, they voted on the Pennsylvania objection. An objection entirely based on constitutionally. The argument was ignored. Democrats and Republicans both spent their five minute intervals sucking off Capitol Police and talking about disenfranchisement of votes.

Then they voted, and every single Democrat voted no. Many Republicans voted no. Where was the legal chance here? Do you think it'd be different with other states? Would it have been different had the Capitol not been breached?

No.

It would have been the same theater. The brave and proud Republicans would virtuously fight... and lose... and do nothing but gracefully waste time.

Yesterday we made some of those fucking traitors feel fear.

That itself is an accomplishment.

Next time it won't be peaceful.

Ah yes, because Trump supporters are so usually shown in a good light in the media.

Hey, dumbshit, they entered the Capitol (which is a public building mind you) because all chances of addressing the fuckery went ignored.

Yeah I know, I think I was clear I was not explaining my point of view but rather how the situation is seen by majority of italian people near me?

I've been following all this shit show on the donald since before they stole the fucking election, I know the courts just cucked and refused to hear cases.

The courts that didn't cuck were simply ignored. Subpoenas for voting machines disregarded. No legal or political repercussions. What is the next option? Sit there and take it?

No, I agree that the protest itself wasn't a bad thing, but I was just citing how it was perceived here to show that somehow media successfully spun it as a terror attack even here. Though, people are not convinced your elections were clean either, which is something at least, means msm is not omnipotent.

We are literally post-truth, where people have embraced intellectual dishonesty. You don't have to convince them that the elections are clean, you just have to convince them that rigging the election was in their best interest.

"I'm Italian"

Opinion immediately discarded.

Then why did you waste time in typing that?

Because you Europeans constantly think Americans give a shit about what you think. We don't and it seems you need to be reminded.

I always cringe when people say "government of the people" it fucking isn't.

It should be, but isn't, the politicians act like aristocrats, it's so evident it hurts, they are detached from reality and believe themselves our betters, really sad.

There were entire riots in 2020 that got less coverage than someone putting their feet on Nancy Pelosi's desk.

I think they need some more reminders. It’s hilarious that for much of the summer you had the general public on edge due to racial unrest and burning / looting of businesses with a fair amount of (occasionally fatal) violence in a number of places, not a peep of disapproval from these clowns in Congress, but now all of a sudden the unwashed masses show up at their door, break a few windows and make them a little uneasy, and it’s aN iNsUrReCtIoN and a NaTiOnAl disgrace.

Fuck them. One small business owner is worth more than all the politicians in the world. It’s unfortunate that public perception is the exact opposite.

These guys need their cages rattled even more to get this through their skulls.

The only thing they got reminded of is that the right always cucks in the end.

They should have stayed occupying the place. Drag it out as long as possible and force the government to act.

– BananaDyne 14 points 5 years ago +14 / -0

They couldn’t. Unlike with Antifa and BLM, which were given free range to burn, loot, and murder, the oathbreakers actually murdered us and attacked us. They stationed “police” outside hotel buildings to disallow Trump supporters from even going outside. There was no option to occupy. Occupying is only allowed for the left.

If the recent comparisons between Trump/MAGA movement and the Catiline conspiracy in the Roman Republic ring true, Caesar should emerge by 2024.

If that happens, shit will get real.

permalink save report block reply

But who is our Caesar, though? Because I don't think it's Trump and never will be Trump after today.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 21 ▼
– chunkyweapon 21 points 5 years ago +21 / -0

For one, Caesar was an Imperator. A military man. He got involved in politics because of both his want for glory and his disgust of how the Republic had been corrupted.

I'm not saying that it's 1:1. History doesn't repeat, but it sure as shit rhymes, and if the Cataline Conspiracy holds to be an accurate facsimile of the Trump/MAGA movement, our Caesar should be watching from the sidelines with shock, dismay, and a growing need to fix this goddamn mess.

That is a good point. It's so funny, yet cool how many parallels you can draw through history. Again, not completely 1:1, but still very close.

Are you sure about that? Remember that The left may try and spin it however they please but I doubt that Trump's base would desert him over this, if he has the capacity he will run in 2024.

He won't because they will not let him. Next step is going to be to put him and likely his kids along with him in prison.

Doubt they'd be that stupid, honestly if they did the few allies Trump has, and he has some, would mobilize for war.

I thought for sure that they would let the GOP win one of the two GA senate seats so they could say: "See there wasn't fraud" too...but that didn't happen. This is for all the marbles and they know it. They think they have their opening to take full control and do so unopposed and they're probably right. Conservatives were too busy making excuses trying to live their lives to notice and it's too late. There isn't time to build the institutions needed to fight back or even organize to do so.

They can get 20M people out to the streets to protest and worse. We can barely muster a few hundred k.

If he is not in office on January 20 of this year he loses my support. If he can't do what is necessary to remain in power when in a position of power, when he is fully aware of what people will do to remove him from power, why should I believe he will be able to get in power again and do anything more with said power if he has it again?

And that's putting aside the reality that the Feds are going to be rounding up people who were in DC and throwing them in prison. Will Trump defend them? He wanted them there...

He seems to be throwing them under the bus already via his press secretary, so, maybe he really was a plant all along and he was a great actor like I've heard some say, controlled opposition made to look as real as possible.

I always thought it was bullshit but at this point anything goes tbh.

This. There isn't much politically me and my dad agree on as he is very down the middle of the road (or tries to be) due to his career in the navy, but this is something we agreed upon yesterday. They have failed us long ago, this was long coming.

Who’s really in charge? Trump supporters had their legal rights suppressed by oathbreakers. They couldn’t even leave their hotels for a smoke, because there were armed “police” stationed at every hotel in DC. Social media has effectively banned Trump and muzzled all his supporters. Who’s in charge?

We know who’s in charge: big tech, mainstream media, and corrupt politicians. We have no power. We have no voice.

Between:

A dead carrier signal from Proxima Centauri (maybe)

That Isreali guy and his Galactic Federation

That Harvard weenie yapping about Oomoomoo/Rama

And Congress wanting to know the difference between alien and Chinese tech in 6 months

Oh, and there was that long blue thing over oahu on the weekend, probably talkin' to the whales and seals via ultrasonic imagery ...
