"We had to lock up 100% of you to protect 0.05% of you!"
We're never going to find out how much all these lockdowns cost, are we? People are going to see the increases in suicides and other deaths of despair, and pretend like they aren't certain why it's happening. We're crippling ourselves and our children for a return that wouldn't even cover the interest cost.
These lockdowns will ultimately be remembered as a good thing. They will be hailed as the catalyst that drove the lethargic west to finally log off of Minecraft and start taking their culture back, in Minecraft....
I was discussing this shit with my father the other day and he asked if I wanted people to die. I didn't even pause to think, my answer was an unequivocal "Yes!"
I think that's honestly where I'm at. If people dying means this whole shitshow comes to an end, I am fine with people dying.
will be counted as Covid-Deaths and used as a reason to implement even more idiotic policies.
Net saves, it's not saving shit: https://www.france24.com/en/20200728-coronavirus-linked-hunger-kills-10-000-children-per-month-says-un
And all the people developing alcoholism and will eventually die to it.
And all the additional people who died to cancer due to missed screenings.
And then factor in all the people, as you said, killing themselves because of all this bullshit.
And I'm sure there's plenty other unforeseen consequences that I'm missing.
womp fucking womp
Oh, there are effects that won't be felt for decades.
I'm currently in my prime earning years, was at a great paying job. Covid killed off our work and I got laid off. Been looking for a few months now, and most of what I'm seeing pays less than my old position.
With savings and unemployment, I'm pretty safe for a while, but it's costing me close to $10,000/month, plus payments into a retirement plan, plus no health insurance (I'd have to stay unemployed until 2022 before I'd qualify for any sort of assistance on that).
I'll probably have to stay in the workforce for years extra to make up for this. And I'm lucky. I'm in a relatively good financial position.
Another Shekelbaum? This world is beyond a parody.
How about the slobby chinkofinkos who CAUSED or possibly CRISPR'd up this virus in the first place? How can the mindless be blamed for something, hmm?
Follow ze orders!
I now miss when people whined about needing a new plague and wiping out large swaths of populations.
At least I agreed on that one, even if we wanted it unleashed on different groups.
Like any good coward though, the moment a single consequence happens they pull a full 180.
"Be quiet. Get on the trains. You'll have a shower when you arrive."
The implied inverse being that if you don't follow orders... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXWhbUUE4ko
I'm not looking forward to the American release. I'll be forced to take it because my dad is military. I'm 18, but still a military dependant because I'm a senior atm.
"What if my neighbors don't follow the orders?"
"Then blame your neighbors. This is all their fault. They're bio-terrorists, and will get what's coming to them. Enemies of the State." - This same guy, probably.
