This Beth Gendler (Likely the one who wrote this) has a father who was born in 1930, (according to her own record, Siegfried Lindenbaum who escaped with his 7 year old brother Manfred to England fro Poland in 1939. Their sister, Beth's aunt, Ruth apparently was not so lucky and died in Auschwitz.
It is quite the tale of a world collapsing and the very real dangers of being persecuted for a belief system not agreed to by the Nazi party. Harrowing stuff.
Had I known that her aunt Ruth has organised a protest to stop the removal of illegal immigrants by sitting in a Honda and stopping agents from going about their business I may have had sympathy for this article.
