There was once a time I felt like a ball of insecurity. The western culture certainly didn't help. I was pretty depressed about being alone and barely coping about being single but absorbing myself into the hobby I genuinely enjoyed helped a lot. And westerners only seem to think only outdoor activities and old school manly work are the acceptable hobbies, I think they should be little more flexible like intellectual pursuits are great too like learning new languages and programming.
