I blame whoever it was that decided to change the first night of Khal Drogo and Daenerys from him "buttering her biscuit until she says yes", to "he simply has his way with her" for the show.
As for the book, I believe that GRRM delayed it out of spite if some of the rumors about D&D huffing their own farts is to be believe. Also, people do realize that GRRM doesn't DO hard outlines, right?
Their preferred target audience has been the "suburban cowboy" who works in an office, drives a truck with all the options but never uses it for "work", and thinks a couple acres is a lot of land, for decades at this point. They HATE the association with rednecks/hilljacks because of the stereotype that they're poor,. Even though they tend to be the ones that work their asses off and don't have the fancy, new stuff simply because "we don't really need that".
Remember, that $300 bucks is on top of your normal unemployment "benefits", and even if you're in the "no tax" tax bracket, there's still federal/state withholding and the various gibs taxes, eg. Social Security. Then you've got costs for insurance and deductions for the 401k.
This entire situation just makes me fume.
Are you sure it wasn't just Sentai's HiDive?
I'd rather they showed preferential treatment to Sentai instead, provided they can keep from going woke. That's due to them being the bastard offspring of ADV, who did all sorts of things to drop the price to the consumer, while pushing higher quality translations. ADV just happened to die from spending too much on titles that didn't pan out, because Funi kept bidding them up.
He ahs no cheek bones, and his eyes are always angry. Jillette on the other hand just has a bunch of stretched out skin.
It doesn't matter, enforcing the border is one of the jobs that a government is actually supposed to do.
It also doubles as the easiest way to spot an Anarchist, who believes that government is anathema, and a Libertarian, who acknowledges that a government is a necessary evil.

I'm pretty sure there's something out there about Franco killing certain sections of the Spanish population via repression, similar to what Saddam did in Iraq. Then there's the free helicopter rides of Pinochet.
It pretty much boils down to, if the government is some version of Socialism, SOMEBODY is going to get beaten/tortured/killed by the state.
It has some great lines too.
UK Dominion would be my guess.
I remember him from Sargon of Akkad's video back in the day, and I swear he was trying to emulate a gay version of Chris Tucker's character from The Fifth Element.
Straczynski gave Paramount the "show bible" and they ended up turning him down. Then they decided to come out with a show about a station on the border of federation space, with a powerful unknown race working behind the scenes as the main antagonist stoking hostilities between two races where one was once enslaved to the other, at roughly the same time as Babylon 5.
I know that two people can come up with the same idea at the same time from different starting points, but this is too close to simply be coincidence.

There at least used to be video of the Most Caucasian Woman Alive promoting one of those motivational "start your own business" speaker snake oil salesmen.
