I'm a member of the third group, but I wouldn't call myself "former" leftists. I'm still a left-of-center libertarian.

I used to be a pretty hardcore libertarian. It was pretty easy in the 90s and early 2000s. Most of us were anti-war, pro-economic freedom, and "live and let live" socially. To this day, I think the Dobbs abortion decision is perfect. Remove it from the feds, and let the people at the state level have a choice.

I've been completely radicalized by leftists who hate me. They hate any devolution of authority from the central government to the people. They hate any kind of "live and let live" philosophy that isn't screaming praise for every perversion and degeneracy out there. They hate any economic freedom as anti-progressive, dogwhistles for fascism, and killing the planet. Leftists hate free speech and view proponents of free speech as nazis. Ironic. And, shockingly, leftists have somehow become the more bloodthirsty and interventionist party.

So, no. I am not a libertarian any more. I am, more than anything else, an anti-leftist.

It is too bad, and some strange vote splitting, but strange things do happen sometimes.

When I went to sleep on election night, somewhere around 3:30am EST (Asmongold still have like 180k viewer on twitch), Republicans were leading:

PA MI WI NV

That would have been a massive swing of +7! MI, WI, NV will all go blue now. PA I think still has a chance for a R win.

There's no chance the senate stays blue. Republicans picked up OH, WV, and MT for sure.

Also balding. I’m old.

When did it hit you? 42 and for me, the trendline is moving in the wrong direction!

A Montanan was telling me the other day that some recent local polling had just come out showing that Tester and Sheehy were now tied, after the Sheehy stolen valor / accidental shooting in a national park, whatever it is thing. Who knows.

I would bet on Montana and WV as flips.

I think Kari Lake probably loses again in AZ.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more focus on flipping the dem in OH.

Wisconsin I think stays dem, but depends on Trump coattails.

Shadowlands...I had almost managed to repress it. I actually didn't hate BfA. Drustvar remains one of my favorite zones.

I didn't enjoy Dragonflight very much and I only played during the beginning.

I came back recently for the 20th anniversary stuff. Not bad so far, but I haven't done much.

Betting odds tanking?

My biggest fear is that that pollsters have overcompensated with the "hard to reach Trump voter" and that polling results will be more like 2022 than 2016 or 2020.

2020 is almost impossible to compare to due to Covid shenanigans.

I'm not convinced betting markets mean much. I'm not much of a degen gambler, but I've been tempted to put some $ on Harris as an emotional hedge.

In 2016, I was playing World of Warcraft, enjoying an adult beverage, and very assiduously not watching the news. All of a sudden, people in chat started going nuts ("WE DID IT BOYS, THE MAD LAD IS IN" -- the mood was extremely positive).

In 2020, I was not playing Warcraft.

So, on Tuesday, I will once again be logged into classic WoW with an adult beverage and/or an adult edible.

(I'm a pessimist, I think he will lose, but we'll see.)

“The idea of [the card] is a deal with the devil, right? You’re selling your soul for power… It’s power at any cost, and that seems to be what he’s into,” Kunce added

What a kunce.

”Classical”-ish, Variations on Frank Bridge, by John Britten

Thesaurus Rex (Scam Song). Random find the other day. Good pump me up song.

Harvey Danger, later albums, not just Flagpole Sitta. “Wine, Women, and Song” .. “Pike St / Park Slope” … “Happiness Writes White”

Benji Hughes, Vibe So Hot, I With With Some Fiends to See the Flaming Lips, The Mummy, etc.

p.s. loved seeing The Night They Drove Ol’ Dixie Down on here! Great song. I love that live performance video. Also Marty Robbins. Great.

True, though he does write a damn fine novel. "The Name of the Rose" is one of my favorite books of all time.

Fake news. The original NPR article very clearly says they quit because they ALMOST harvested organs from an alive person and a supervisor was pushing them to go forward with it.

I agree with all of that.

Kamala "I have a glock and watch Formula1 -- both activities popular with my Jewish husband and non-binary queer model step-child" Harris is running scared. On that we agree!

The book, Wicked, was written by Gregory Maguire. He is gay and Wicked is some of the biggest schlock I've ever read or seen. He's not Jewish though.

The musical was made by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman, both of whom are Jewish. Did you catch the hilarious line about Ronald Reagan in the musical?! Ho ho ho, it really owned those Republicans!!

Silver is not a pollster and he doesn't generate any polls.

"Why you should mostly ignore 'internal polls'" https://archive.ph/Q56il

If you've got a problem with anything in the article, go for it.

Sure, maybe. But since nobody outside of campaigns sees these internal results, we just have to take their word for it (or not)?
