I predict the show will be a cluster, but not because of a lack of Asians.
Yet pugs are one of the most popular modern dig breeds....
“Oh no! The push for moral deviancy led to deviants taking over my group and pushing me out for not being deviant enough. How could this have happened!?”
I have little sympathy for those who reap a whirlwind.
Calling France fascist for this is idiotic. On the other hand, France’s desperate attempt to maintain their French Revolutionary hatred of religion and worship of humanism is equally idiotic. As usual, nothing useful is coming from the frogs.
I didn’t get bedridden by the vaccine and I look down upon those who were for their moral weakness in letting it overcome them. They shouldn’t have let it do that.
Given that England helped to lead the world in allowing forced sterilization of those deemed ‘unfit’ during the Eugenics craze, I’m never particularly surprised by any lunacy they do. What else can we expect of a people who thought the ‘Feeble Minded Act’ was a good idea?
As others have said, what makes LOTR so strong is that canon is comparatively explicit. If Amazon messes things up (as is likely), most people heavily into Tolkien will reject it as being inconsistent. A premium is placed upon knowledge of the writing that I think will be enough of a bulwark. Only time will tell though I suppose.
Never have I felt more secure in my long running argument that LOTR is more worthwhile to be invested in than Star Wars.
Don’t worry though, his theories won’t be questioned because of this. He’ll still be happily parroted in many a Lit and Philosophy class, his post-modern disciples happily discounting this small indiscretion. It makes me retch to think of how many professors I had who quoted him so often and profusely.
Damn, but that comic is disturbing. I had always taken the quote by CA Lewis about tyranny to be a hypothetical, but there it was carried out in full display. Horrific, and of course it was allowed with no punishment for those who ultimately ignored it. Damn I hate being in as sleazy a field as education sometimes.
The quote for reference: “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.”
Nah, I can guarantee this comes from admins. Teachers (at least in my personal experience) hate having to just babysit little morons and want to actually make them do some things. Admins tho just want the numbers, especially for graduation, even if it’s meaningless. Administrators will do whatever it takes to cover their own asses, even if it’s a disservice to the kids.
