Twin Peaks. It was a phenomenon at the time, with everyone watching week by week to find out who killed Laura Palmer. But then in typical David Lynch fashion, you get twisted up by the end with more questions than answers. Kyle Machlachlan made his name here, Ray Wise and young Lara Flynn Boyle also stand out.

Columbo as others have mentioned - justice is served and the bad guys always squirm under Columbo's questioning.

Rewatching with my kids - Dinosaurs. It's Jim Henson so even toddlers enjoy his little creatures but it has wholesome themes and adult humor too. We've been watching everything we can get of Henson's and haven't found a dud yet. Top films- Dog City, Muppet Treasure Island (Tim Curry) and Muppet Christmas Carol (Michael Caine).

We took our kids to see it and I enjoyed it, too. I didn't have high hopes because kids films in the past 10 years have really gone downhill with the pacing and everyone screaming the entire time. I also was concerned the animation would be too much but it played out well. The scene with Squidward and the Sirens was hilarious. Did you have the TMNT short in the beginning? That was also better than I expected.

Yeah I've lost almost 50 pounds with fasting and keto and I'm looking a bit droopy, too. My buddy lost about 80 pounds around 2017 and he got lines on the side of his mouth. I think it's just the drastic weight loss. Probably muscle loss too, not exercising.

Congrats on your 85-pound loss bud, that's dedication 💪🏼

The H-1 visa is the one being abused in the white collar system (tech, etc). This bill has stipulations for H-2b which is for temporary agriculture workers. They already had a cap at 66,000 (66? 🤔)

But you're right to be alarmed that the new cap is going from 66-> almost 300. Sounds like a back door for more visa abuse. American Ag workers will still be SOL. And absolutely no, I don't want to go on a migrant carnival ride #deathtrap

If they don't put on an epic Hulk Hogan tribute at this year's WrestleMania, I'll start my own riot.

I didn't get to finish but you know where it was going. I couldn't name anyone on stage these days and stopped watching when they got rid of Enzo Amore. Didn't know that about McMahons, what a cuck. Another one bites the dust.

Yeah, I just read that Jared Leto is Skeletor. That's disappointing.

I'm holding out that he'll redeem himself because I really want to see how they do Skeletor.

Same, maybe he leaves in a dramatic scene? Yeets the boss out the window?

See at 00:37- I can't tell if he's supposed to be "progressive" in a +dei way for movie tokens, or he breaks free? Then we cheer on the ass-kicking? Please don't cuck He-Man

Good for you, most encouraging response here. We had to abandon our original prep spot but just closed on some acreage a few weeks ago.

Been helping others slip away from the bankers' death-grip since 2014 too. Not only it's profitable, I make friends for life.

This sounds pretty cool, can you elaborate? I've been dealing with lenders and finance people a lot lately. The mortgage brokers just want your money, unfortunately, as do financial advisors ("invest in my mutual!") What else is out there to help people be more financially savvy, besides being Dave Ramsey?

Police Academy was a favorite back when I was a kid. I guess blacks can't be funny anymore, they have to be serious and strong.

Any other "problematic" old movies on the list? I haven't seen The gods ... in it's entirety so I'll add it to the list. Unfortunately a lot of old media is impossible to find, all the big media retailers want you to buy it or don't have it at all. For example, Fraggle Rock, original Blues Clues, and Mister Rogers. I keep a VHS collection but even thrift stores don't always sell tapes.

Option 4 the author missed (where 1 was rejecting femininity, 2 close to husband, etc...) It's late in the war and some woman lost her husband, brothers, and sons in battle. She has nothing to live for and is driven to avenge their deaths or follow suit. She disguises herself and enlists to fight. It's also the civil war so "F those Yankees/Southerners, they must pay"

I thought feminists were all about Female Empowerment Boss Babes (tm)? How could the author miss a much more plausible and compelling explanation?

I first read Enoch online, then I did an audio version on YouTube. I don't remember Metatron but I think I would because there was a time I would read "channeling" letters and that being/entity was featured often. Those were my occult days prior to being saved. I have a new print copy so if I find the passage I'll let you know.

Interesting. That topic is a debate even in the mainstream Christian circles- whether a merciful God would have souls suffer for eternity. I don't have the answer. I also heard a criticism of Enoch where is supposedly says after he was taken up to heaven, he took on the name "Metatron" and we're encouraged to pray to him. But I don't remember reading that part, so I don't know.

Yes, the Bible quotes Enoch and Jasher in a way that sounds like the books were common knowledge. Joshua 10:12-13 "On the day the LORD gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the LORD in the presence of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.” So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar." Also 2 Cor 11:14 "And no wonder: for Satan himself transformeth himself into an angel of light." is similar to a story from the book of Adam and Eve. Apostle Paul as a Pharisee was educated on Jewish law, I believe had formal education for it, so you have to wonder what books they included in the curriculum.

My mom had me read the Screwtape Letters at about the same age, I'll have to go back and reread it too!
