This was my same comment. How does this benefit the studio? It doesn't add anything to the game. Like, it sort of makes sense in Skyrim, because you have a character that your role play as, and there's third person cutscenes. But this is a racing game, the character doesn't matter!

Elden rings story is VERY shallow. Fromsoft fanboys disagree, but cmon guys compared to literally any other rpg ever that game sucks when it comes to story. It's got good visuals and cool architecture and maybe a dozen sidequests total.
