He was apparently a spy in British Intelligence along with other authors like 007 James Bond Writer Ian Fleming and occultist Aleister Crowley

The Witches was a good film the original the remake was meh It was pretty bad actually but I never read the book yet

Apparently James Bond was partly based on him as well. Though from what I've read about him, his spy work was mainly being in the US and sleeping with the wives of politicians to have them convince their husbands to declare war upon Germany and enter World War II.
