Well written thanks. One point I would disagree with though is the suffering of the rich being pretend.
As you said, hedonistic adaptation and the like are part of human nature. If you objectively live a pampered life, but your brain says "you're depressed", then you're depressed. Our subjective feelings are not based on facts. We feel what we feel, whether or not it makes sense.
It's not unlike how a 2 year old can have everything: Warmth, love, safety, and freedom to play all day. Yet they can still be devastated when you won't give them ice-cream for dinner. There's nothing pretend about it, I assure you.
Thanks that sounds awesome. The last new movie I saw and liked was Hunter Killer. And that came out... 6 years ago.
Yes, I watched it. I personally never take a drug without reading up on it. Same goes for my children. Yes he's a spectacularly busy man, but I would personally put my children over business. I agree, we should be able to trust our doctors, but you unfortunately you can't really. That was true even before covid.
I agree. Children are their own people, there's nothing we can do to guarantee they turn out a certain way. That being said I was referring to how he signed some document allowing doctors to "treat" his son. He could have refused to sign it.
I'm glad Elon's trying to take a stand against wokeness. But honestly to me it shows that he didn't put in the effort up front to protect his son. Sure the hospital website has a blurb that says "puberty blockers are safe and effective, and just give your child more time to decide". But if you actually read the medical literature, there has never been any evidence to show that. There is also tons of evidence for disastrous long term health effects. If he had spent a few hours doing research before signing those documents he may have been able to save his son.
I experienced this. Every indication is that the video is playing, but it's actually an ad, and the controls don't work. Fortunately using private browsing mode still blocks it for some reason.
I remember COD2 being excellent. The shooting mechanics and graphics felt so gritty and realistic when it came out.
Heat Signature was amazing, but I never hear anyone talk about it. Thronebreaker: the witcher tales was also really good. The "game" part is so/so, but the interactive storytelling is incredible. Massive Chalice is good if you like XCOM, and the sound track is sick.
Also, it's kind popular, I'll throw out armored core 4. It was my favorite in the series. Great music, great style, and unlike the previous games, non-clunky combat.
I couldn't agree more.
