Ok, weird thought here. I doubt most people understand pain. Breaking a femur is considered the absolute worst pain to experience. Even Child Birth is below it. I've broken a femur, and had to slowly heal which meant dealing with a lot of pain. Because of that I have a higher pain threshold.
I know people who have experienced a 5/10 at best. Since this is the highest pain they have experienced, it is all they have to compare to. So it may be low in reality, to them that is a 10. It then transfers. A 3 is actually a 6 or even an 8.
A friend of mine had a botched brain operation and has opinions on pain meds. Definitely a high count. So pain relief for the friend is very different than others. An aspirin is for a 3-4, while a friend who has only experienced a 6 will think they need a delatin for their pain. Yes I know I misspelled it.
So getting the same prescription might not work because of all these people who think their 2 is an 8.
So, there is studies on Assholes. They aren't called that, but you ask any actual academic and they will know papers. I small time studied mass shooters and terrorists so I knew some stuff. The term means anyone willing to break the rules for their advantage. Shooters are way higher up than the guy who cut you off.
This guy is breaking the social rules to get an advantage to what he wants. He is an asshole. Of course he's a lawyer so he was one anyway...
They are held accountable if their kid gets in a car crash. The insurance rises and extra scrutiny is given. Also, they now have to drive their kid around while buying a new car.
Well first they have to find the dad...
Money laundering; The Musical!
Well last time it was Romans, so I guess fairs fair.
It won't archive, so I will see what I can do from there.
Time to make a Boudicca to London?
Well, that loaded. Thank you.
The long list will be done this week or next. I got busy for a while and couldn't do much. There's over 400 links.
A lot of stuff is done because they want to show only Hollywood can do it. Sort of like all the people in movies like Ben Hur. It's expensive and Indies can't do it. Then Star Wars proved a smallish budget could make a great film, so they went all in for expensive FX. Now FX are cheap and fairly easy to do, while big time physical effects are too expensive. They can't right the ship without going broke, and the indie guys can do it cheaper anyway.
Godzilla Minus One was proof of this.
I just read an article about a guy making a Star Wars Rogue Squadron clone for Dreamcast.
How is this different from earlier?
So that's why they admitted aliens existed. They had something way more redacted.
Which game?
It's been going around various social media folks. It does reek of giving up as wanted.
I knew some of the game makers in indie groups. They were 5-10 members big and making cool stuff. Then they disappeared to reappear with a publisher and lots of media coverage. It really looks like any publicity or investment is based on SBI approval. There is no alternative to this.
The entire indie scene is more compromised and "success" isn't what we think it is. This is really sad, because the teams just wanted to be noticed and maybe get some investment. It's about as real as the Oscars.
It's a good book. They're really honest with the history. The biggest problem is that some of it has the 'they're weird as the explanation' for cultural stuff.
Look up the Blind samurai series.
Kia ora really confuses Spanish speaking kiwis. They keep on saying hello and then giving the time.
Dick Tracy has an awesome statue in Chicago. I've yet to see someone praying to him.
Cargo Cults were weird.
I still miss iO9 when it was good.
Not with AI coming to take the easy jobs.
That's why I archived it. We have proof it exists without giving it clicks.
Yeah. The term is a reference from Red Dwarf. The episode where they meet Krysten and Lister describes how to refer to Rimmer when being polite.
There are rules about these types of people as well.
