Like when they persecuted Trump for making a deal which everyone agreed to and everyone made money.
Double standards, projection and hate. That's all the left has.

Private investment is not "a subsidy". Dude.

He opened his big, dumb mouth and essentially confessed without even being asked any questions.

It may have been a better neighborhood 10-odd years ago? Hoodcreep is real!

All our major grocery stores were built with 2 entrances. All of them have locked on off completely & changed entry & exit routes. Doesn't help much, but what else can they do? Constant shoplifting by "the homeless" and Natives.

Almost every taco shop in my (Canadian) city is East Indian now. They still make good tacos, so no complaint!

That's exactly it.
Some Cali city, Oakland? Tried banning bulletproof glass too. Dozens of business served notice they'd shut down forever without it, or demanded the city pay for the replacement glass which used to get broken every single week. The city backed off, but no doubt they're still scheming to sneak that regulation in someplace.
And yes, the reason was racism. Having such glass in "certain neighborhoods" was demeaning to the residents there. You know what else is demeaning? Replacing windows 50 times a year...

Duress, like anything else, has to be supported by evidence, just like the accusation.

A 14 year-old gets raped by the popular priest in a small town. Both of his/her parents don't believe it and threaten do disown them if they go to police. (They're 'devout' eh?) They mean it, they disowned an older child before. Kid goes to the school nurse, also 'devout' and is told to shut their lying mouth. That's duress. The police chief is the priest's brother. & etc. That's a valid reason (not excuse).

Any accusation still needs to be backed up. "He said she said" is less believable as time passes, that's good because it's also harder to defend such empty accusations too.
But IF there's actual reasons? Then it can be taken seriously.

"I was in a coma for 20 years because he smashed my skull." NO EXCUSES!
"He locked me in is basement for 20 years, I just now escaped." NO EXCUSES!
Extreme? Yes very, but it's supposed to illustrate a point.

Anyhow, you do you! And I don't totally disagree, I just think there can be exceptions. Those exceptions must be scrutinized on their own merit. If they fail it reduces the odds of the accusation being true & should be taken into account.
Cheers!

So duress is not a valid reason? 🙄 Thank you for your genius insight. 🤭

Again: (because you seem to have skipped it) I'm not saying THESE women were under duress, they clearly were not (since their accusations are all probably fabricated anyhow). I'm saying there have been many real-life examples of men or women who withheld going to police for a very real fear of retaliation and/or meeting a stone wall of protection.

Sadly? Yes.
Hardly any civilized nations have escaped the degradation of leftism or invasion. Most of the uncivilized ones were already not worth saving. They're rapidly digging their own graces too.

I don't think Biak, Tarawa, Peleliu, Okinawa (which the Japanese did consider home soil) or a dozen other battles were "easy" at all. :/

Their culture and ideology were outdated and primitive, it's true. Their disdain for the lives & suffering of their soldiers and civilians didn't help them at all, really.

It's been a Ponzi scheme (or scam) ever since a Federal (or even State/Provincial) Government "borrowed" money.

The government never intends to pay OFF the debt, just pay it "back". Although low level (city, municipality) may issue Bonds & such for specific projects & those are paid out over time? The ongoing burden of debt for day-to-day operations is never intended to be repaid. It is ALWAYS re-paid by... borrowing more money!
This inevitably leads to "The Black Wall Of Debt" and disaster, but who cares? Some other sucker will be in office by then, and I'll have my gold-plated pension for life!

iirc? My city now pays HALF its annual budget into debt. Meanwhile it jacks up taxes to fund essential things like police, fire and ambulance. While maintaining vanity projects and "special interest funding" out the wazoo. Try to point out that resolving the debt (by cutting wasteful spending) would leave TONS of money for that = yeah, good luck getting anyone to listen.

The part where she was under duress. Even a signed confession is nullified by that, so saying she cannot be telling the truth because it took so long is also nullified.
Of course her statement still has to stand on its own merit, just like a false report "all those years ago" is disputed by its lack of merit.

It started out pretty good? But even the first few seasons had "klunker" episodes. They fell flat, klunk! and were best forgotten.
Then the whole season was a continuous klunker! Or worse.

Ever heard him talking, as himself? He's a scatterbrained idiot. Really bad!

That must make him a terrific actor then? 😜 If he can come across as anything BUT a scatterbrained idiot.

5Cats 3 points ago +3 / -0

Because of him stacking up the debt? I owe WHA!?! 😊

Or because he was senile? I? oh... wha? (as in "what am I doing here on this stage?") 😄

5Cats 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well yes! That is the usual "default" for us deciding if it's real or not: was it told at the time?

Biden's accuser registered a complaint with 2 entities, iirc? Documented and verified. She told a half-dozen people or more, iirc. Blasey Ford told... no one. Not one person. Her husband? Nope. Her BFF? Nope. Her therapist? Nope. Not a soul. Not even a diary entry.

But there's also women who've filed false claims too, so this isn't the sole arbiter of verification.

There's been women in the past (at least locally, like Peter Nygaard eh?) who stayed silent for fear of reprisal (for example) but came forward when he got into politics or when others accused him too. They could back their accounts up, usually, like one woman's doctor visit with pictures of her injuries.
So it is possible the event was real but the women stayed silent. Just not in this case, it's all people approached by leftist lawyers seeking a "victim" to go after him.

Was it even raining that day? I heard the "he was seeking shelter from the rain" excuse early on. 😑 Not that it IS an excuse for stabbing someone, but lefties will swallow anything!

3
5Cats 3 points ago +3 / -0

Same as looting: it's OK based on skin colour, facts need not apply.

3
5Cats 3 points ago +3 / -0

They're claiming the victim "laid hands on him" and that justifies self defense with a knife to the heart.
His brother says he moved the killer's backpack & was immediately stabbed.

In any case, the Media will either ignore this or spin it that the Black was the victim. As always.

I'd be inclined to give "some credit" if his name just hit the headlines for some reason. Like a guy runs for office for the first time & the woman then tells her (legitimate) story to stop him? She wouldn't have much reason to otherwise.
BUT! Brand's been famous for YEARS now. This is a targeted fake attack. They'd have to have clear videos and a signed & notarized confession before I'll believe it.

That sounds really dirty... so banks would do it if it had a government guarantee or something. I'd still think they'd require outside (of the stocks) collateral though.
