Someone pointed out the other day that they were thankful that the LOTR trilogy got made when it did. It couldn't be made now without some woke bullshit shoehorned in.

When The Hobbit movies came out, I was quite annoyed by the addition of female elf Tauriel. A friend of mine had an 8 year old daughter who was OBSESSED with her, dressed up like her for halloween, and ended up reading all of LotR.
So, I KIND of get the addition (not gender bending) of a couple of minor roles. I still think Tauriel was hamfisted and stupid, and the part was clearly written for 8 year old girls, but whatever.
This...this is just appalling.
What's next, a Chronicles of Narnia where Lucy steps through the wardrobe into Narnia and finds Mr Tumnus the fawn getting blown by Mrs Beaver? (Just to be safe I am not going to google that for Rule 34.)

I've always wondered if others really wanted the sex scenes that are shoved into way too many things. Others meaning young adult to middle aged men like myself. Clearly my very religious grandma does not want them. It's never been of any value to me to see some boobs or buttcheeks in a show I'm trying to watch for a story. I mean if you want that stuff, it's available by itself.
There are stories where it fits. WestWorld, for example, included them sensibly in season 1 for the most part. But almost always, it's out of place.

I personally don't care for watching people bump uglies in film. It's not explicit enough to arouse and I just don't see what the point is otherwise. I've always thought sex scenes in movies were just a way for the filmmaker to see a bitch naked, since their inclusion more often than not just pads out the runtime and serves no purpose to the narrative.
There are a million ways to tell the audience that two characters got down to business. Actually showing it is probably the least creative of them all.
I always find it very awkward when shows have 30+ second sex scenes. It seems like it's trying to portray the relationship the characters have, but it just leads to me feeling like I'm having an uncomfortable portrait into the character's life. Also uncomfortable to watch with other people, am I supposed to be getting turned on in front of my parents? What is my brother thinking? etc. The information about a character's relationship can be delivered without bordering on pornography. And no, nudity isn't required for this issue, showing people aggressively making out displayed in an erotic fashion also seems too much.
Everyone involved with this travesty should be chained to a boulder and hurled into the sea.
