There are men in Final Fantasy?
There were a couple in the trailer. Pretty sure they die though.
Those are men?
If you watch carefully scattered among the effiminate stature of the main cast there are some more masculine characters. They do not appear to be front and center characters though.
It's Japan, so if they don't die, they exist purely to be overly-emotional and end up being saved by women. Like Snow in FF XIII.
Honestly one of the reasons I've never liked FF.
Cid Highwind comes to mind.
TIL
Don't you diss my boy Sazh like that. He is just a struggling black man trying to do the best for his son with a pet chocobo in his afro.
I can't hate a character from Cowboy Bebop.
For leftists, female = ugly cunt. If your female characters are feminine and remotely likeable or sympathetic, then they aren't really female. They're just eye candy for men. Real women have manjaws and act like turbo bitches for no reason. If your female characters aren't actively antagonizing every male in existence, then you're just another fascist trying to genocide trans people or whatever.
im getting pretty tired of every lead being a woman and every game having 50% women. Played metro 2033 last night it was great all the soldiers were men. No fucking shaved lesbians in sight anywhere.
Virtually every new IP is female-led now. And given what we know about the people who inject female leads into their games these days, a female protag is a gigantic red flag in 2020.
If by "female-led" you mean the same square-jawed man in drag then yes.
Played Civ6 again recently and laughed that every woman was frumpy, fat, or plain ugly (and they were most of them) and every man was either historically accurate or JACKED AS SHIT.
I truly miss diversity of male characters.
Not only were they wrong when trying to push their agenda. But the trailer showed a lot of things that fans didn't want.
I'm not up to date on the disdain, what's going on with it?
I can live with the series going away from turned based, but some people noted that the short combat scenes looked a lot like DMC.
Probably more of what the trailer didn't show. Though Square-Enix has been moving away from other members of the cast being controllable. Such as XIII and XV not having it at launch. This might not be the case, but the trailer didn't aid in those concerns.
Maybe he won't be, since this trailer shows just a couple minutes of the guy at most. However, people aren't looking forward to yet another cold/emo main character.
This is more considering the crowd we're in, but some did compare to the crystal line they showed in the trailer to remind them of The Last Jedi. I do consider it a little worrisome considering this recent trend of dissing the history of your own franchise. Though seeing as they're still using Chocobos and Shiva, it probably won't happen.
It's mostly just looking at the red flags that were shown in the trailer. Who knows, the game itself could be amazing. I would hope so, since I do enjoy the series. I was even excited for XIII and hopeful for XV, but for myself personally I'd keep expectations in check for this one until it's released.
That's because they have the combat director from DMCV working on the game
I love the original final fantasy games to death... But if we get DMC Final Fantasy, I can't complain.
My own personal gripes that may or may not change as we get closer to release:
The Setting: The setting this game is in so far does absolutely nothing for me. It looks like a dime store Ivalice, and considering Ivalice is already one of the most boring fantasy settings around, this is not a good thing.
Crystals: I am so fucking tired of FF stories revolving around crystals. Its like that is the only idea they even have anymore.
As for the action gameplay...eh. I like turn based stuff too, but I think its time for its fans to just accept that its never coming back. The masses have spoken on this one.
I didn't play 2 or 3, but crystals have been Final Fantasy's go-to since at least 4. I seem to recall there being crystals in the FF movie as well.
Thank you. Personally, my greatest complaint was it appeared to be another uninspiring Final Fantasy title. I know that isn't a very flushed out notion, but the story elements were okay, the characters felt bla and emo, and the combat looked okay.
Nothing really to love, nothing really to hate.
Have more faith, Yoshida is involved. It looks more serious, and more like an Ivalice type setting, and given it probably won't be out for a few years this has to be some early gameplay we saw. We'll likely see other characters later, but your points on the multiple party member thing is legit - they've been shying away from that in various forms for a bit, but they really seem to have gotten a good method of controlling multiple characters at once in FF7R - though they left the AI of the non-controlled characters dumbed down I think, for reasons.
I'm personally pretty hyped. Excited for the darker tone it seems to be setting and they've got Yoshi-P in charge.
The crystal line to me seemed more like they're leaning more into a "rebel against the crystals" theme like 12 and the scrapped DLC for 15 in this one. But we'll have to see what happens when more info comes out down the line.
The truth never stops feminists. Gender pay gap, rape "statistics" proven wrong and biology has never stop them before so why would they draw this arbitrary line to what they see with their own eyes.
It's like "diversity". What they mean is always "no White men".
Is back to Medieval fantasy setting? I sorta skipped thru the trailer, but i didnt see any kangz and the girls looked like girls.
So far, so good.
Although they can still surprise us and do something stupid like a black guy with a mini chocobo living inside his afro.... oh wait.
This shit has the same vibes as "What if Zelda was a girl?".
There has been entire 3 fucking titles featuring Lighting and every fucking game has female characters left and right.
Is xe under the impression that these are all bishonen?
Jesus Christ there were barely any men in the trailer
They were right, all those pictures are of ideal Japanese men. Shows what you know, OP.
