Look people I'm about to leave this world which I have inhabited for these last 67 years, and I'm here to tell you that shit is going off the rails, I am really deeply concerned.
There is a terrible reckoning dead ahead and it won't be any kind of replay of a known historical event - no cattle cars, no guillotines, no napalm. This is insidious and more global; lockdowns, financial larceny, pandemics, mass migrations and extinctions; Infrastructure and support systems overload, civil liberties extinction in the midst of civil rights rising.
I don't know what exactly collapse/implosion looks like but it's coming, and much faster than I ever expected. Systems are on the brink. I expect no return to 'normal'.
This ain't no disco, this ain't no party, this ain't no foolin' around
Based boomer.
You have no idea how tired I am of hearing:
>but muh 1968
from your peers. '68 was NOTHING like the current situation. No social media, no corporate communism, no one being deplatfomred from BANKING, no 70 years of Marxist indoctrination of the entire educational system, which also drove the economic suppression of 2 entire generations via the student loan scam.
Then we locked everyone in their houses, forced~30% of them out of work, prohibited them from attending their place of worship, destroyed over 40% of the small businesses in some states, and then encouraged coast to coast race riots with the media cheering on the burning, death and destruction.
Then the opposition party is going to publicly and nakedly rig the Presidential election.
Yeah, whatever comes next is going to be cartoonishly horrible.
Something is always coming.
Social media has had effects on humanity like no one 20 years ago could have possibly understood. If I described 2020 to you in the year 2000, what would you have said? And, these phenomena will probably have even more strange effects yet to be seen.
They say quantum computing will make ALL encryption obsolete. No more secrets? Everyone's dirty laundry out in the open for anyone to judge? Truly uncharted territory here. Mixed feelings of excitement and absolute dread permeate humanity.
Yes. We are on the brink of something BIG here. Yes. It will be an absolute earthquake of a shock to individuals and the systems we've built around us. But, maybe it's not all bad?
Pedophilia is revolting. But, if we could identify, end, exterminate all the pedophiles? If you knew everything, about everyone, and had absolute power, what would you do?
It feels like we're on the brink of asking some really BIG really DEEP questions about ourselves. About life, the universe, and everything. And, a lot of us aren't even ready for any of it. But, maybe some of us are?
The industrial revolution had effects on humanity. Some of those effects were amazing. The locomotive and common household appliances. The automobile. Can you even imagine a world without these things? But, all of this technological advancement also made war more deadly, efficient, and automated than ever. World War 2. Communism. Stalin. Mao. Hitler. Churchill. FDR. JFK. CIA. Microsoft. Amazon. Facebook. These are all brought to us by technological innovation.
I don't know what the world looks like 20 years from now. But, if you described it to me in the most exquisite detail imaginable, would I believe you? Would I evn be able to understand what you were saying?
It's okay. I've got some groceries, some peanut butter, to last a couple of days.
sorry about your lack of speakers, headphones, and records to play
If you had been in my US west coast city in March of this year when the covidium crisis was announced, you wouldn't have been able to find a packet of dried ramen noodles anywhere for months .,.
Enjoy the PB&J while the getting's good. Keep a spare on hand.
There is a point where we needed to stop and we have clearly passed it, but let's keep going an see what happens.
I'm not sure things are worse now than with the 60s race riots in terms of instability.
I think a big difference now is we don't have an enemy in the soviet union to unify us. And the people who want to turn us into another СССР are secure enough to be much more open about their intentions.
During the 60's, the US (and Europe) were still 90% White and shared the same core civilization. The 60's race riots were impressive but unimportant in the grand scale of things. The majority population could have smashed them like China does with their minorities. Now we are much, much worse: demographic minority in many cities and religions in the West, under attack and vilified by the media, entertainment and colleges, losing our own capability of controlling the education of the next kids... We are in a very peril situation, in an existential crisis.
I want to stop comparing things - to the 60's, to cattle cars from WWII, guillotines from the French revolution, to napalm from the Vietnam war - those are not coming back.
This is a deep and abiding change that does not have the same trademarks as previous upheavals, We need to stop looking for those hallmarks and recognize this change as being totally different from what has come before in terms of overt brutality/vs. overt brainwashing and control.
This shit is real, right here right now and without warning, I'm expecting things to get worse at a moments' notice. Your life could blow up before your very eyes while we still argue about which side is right and which side is wrong.
You could be toast either way, that's what I'm sayin'. These are unprecedented times which could lead to a lot of hard times for a lot of people who still don't understand what a serious global/political/financial/biological corner we have wedged ourselves into.
I think the problem here is that we view history through a lens that paints actions as overt, when the reality, much like our current one, is much more nuanced.
I can appreciate the realization that this war (and I think we can call it one) cannot be measured by historical events. The information age was short-lived and got subverted to become the misinformation age - having noticed it years ago, I'm not surprised by how things have gotten bad (I did think it'd take another decade, though).
I can't bring myself to be afraid, however, because uncertain risk shouldn't be feared. If I were to fear uncertain risk, I'd never leave the house and still be afraid because it's very easy to break into my home and kill me. I'm just a little stupefied, and deeply concerned about the future of...everyone, I guess.
Possible solutions are looking very grim. What good is anything if a country isn't allowed to remove central banking or otherwise disengage from foreign manipulation?
Read Revelations.
When all else fails you can always scapegoat the Jews. It's practically a universal tradition.
Its so universal I'm beginning to wonder if I'm missing something.
It just keeps happening.
It's almost like...hmm nevermind.
Wonder why it keeps happening
You have to be Jewish. You seem to randomly bring them up when no one else is talking about them. Your constant lust for victimization is very telling.
Nah, just too much time spent on /pol/
hey at least youre not in Europe your going to become a beanie nation whereas we are bevomming islamic nations.
rather be ruled by beanies than muslims
I'm currently reading Submission by, Houellebecq. It's another great addition to the anti Islamic literature that is popping up in the west in the last 10 years.
To be honest, I kinda welcome it. I know I will obviously be one of those that fall in the civil wars but we opened our borders to goddamn kiddy fuckers whose for the last 1,400 years have not shown a single redeemable quality. I am from NZ and with our fucking disgrace of a PM flooding us with "syrian refugees", and seeing more and more what happens in the UK, then having a bunch of kiddy fucking, sub human savages screaming "allahu ackbar" in a NZ court, I kinda welcome the purge. Either my country will regain some fucking honour, or it won't be my problem any more and I just hope the last survivors of western civilisation do the right thing and fire every nuke and sabotage every nuclear power station on their way out.
No matter what, I won't let voices like yours fall to ruin. It may sound cheesy, but I'll continue to carry on the will of your generation just as you did the one before.
One of the reasons I type out long posts, instead of just quick one-liners, is in hope that I can pass along what wisdom and knowledge I have to those who will come after me – or maybe for those looking for something with more substance, or a different perspective.
It may seem self-serving – in some regards it probably is – but I want to pass down a little part of myself, and the values I was passed down.
This country, as well as western civilization itself, has decided to go down a dangerous rabbit-hole all in the name of being 'progressive.' What's most disappointing, is that much of the youth – particularly Generation Z – are a group of solipsistic idiots. Many have little to no experience with regards to life in the real world; yet they arrogantly feel they have a grasp on what's happening because they were told by people who have a very obvious vested interest in continuing whatever narrative they're seeking to promote. Do they think that just because many of these people speak of wonderful ideals and inculcate visions of a possible utopian future that they're telling the truth – or don't have ulterior self-serving motives? It's not difficult for anyone to preach sophistry through didactic messages. We've seen some of the worst tyrants in history do that exact thing.
That's precisely why we should question everything and seek out the truth for ourselves; not a personal truth, but the truth. That's where many of these young people go wrong. They specifically search out things for confirmation bias, instead of looking for the sole purpose of knowing the overall picture. For fuck's sake, we're this far along into this progressive nonsense and very few even stop to think for a moment why the hell, "objective thinking" and "individualism" are being perpetuated as bad things. That should set off more than just a red-flag or a small alarm; it's should be setting off the damn air-raid and disaster sirens in their heads. Those are a couple of the core tenants to being a free person.
I guess we'll have to see where things go from here. I can't say I'm super optimisitc; however, I don't ever plan on giving in either. I'm confident and steadfast that I have a foundation of solid core values and principles. It's just a shame that all of these people coming of age now are fueled by the presupposition that everyone that came before them are somehow terrible people ruining the world when they have no idea to begin with how the world actually works.
"Five to one baby, one in five. No one here gets out alive..."
Checks out
Um yeah you don't gotta have 67 years to realize that. I'm 30 and I'm stocking up on guns and ammo. This is gonna be a wild one.
It’s pretty bad, but USA and western civilization survived WWII. It will survive this.
WWII was an external threat. The problems we're facing now are internal. When empires fall it's usually because internal upheaval weakened them to the point of being unable to deal with external aggressors.
External to the US, very much internal to western civilization.
I mean if you count communism and fascism as internal to western civilization, then sure. But at that point we're not really talking about something identifiable as a particular category of civilization anymore.
They're both internal reactions to the problems with capitalism, and that's been an ever greater part of the core of the western world since the 1700's.
Physically internal, psychically external. It hates Western civilization.
USA had much worse internal upheavals in the 1800s.
WWII was internal. Everything was set up so the US would get involved.
Did we? Did we crush communism?
That was not what the war was about, if you were on the side that was remotely sane.
And this is why the west is doomed.
We should have let Patton have his way; the future would have been better for it.
He was killed. They knew what was up
The West has been chipped away at for hundreds of years by subverters. WW2 wasn't a win, it was merely a stage in our decline.
A stage in the decline from our glory days of......what? The Spanish Empire?
Okay Doomer
