Look people I'm about to leave this world which I have inhabited for these last 67 years, and I'm here to tell you that shit is going off the rails, I am really deeply concerned.
There is a terrible reckoning dead ahead and it won't be any kind of replay of a known historical event - no cattle cars, no guillotines, no napalm. This is insidious and more global; lockdowns, financial larceny, pandemics, mass migrations and extinctions; Infrastructure and support systems overload, civil liberties extinction in the midst of civil rights rising.
I don't know what exactly collapse/implosion looks like but it's coming, and much faster than I ever expected. Systems are on the brink. I expect no return to 'normal'.
This ain't no disco, this ain't no party, this ain't no foolin' around
Something is always coming.
Social media has had effects on humanity like no one 20 years ago could have possibly understood. If I described 2020 to you in the year 2000, what would you have said? And, these phenomena will probably have even more strange effects yet to be seen.
They say quantum computing will make ALL encryption obsolete. No more secrets? Everyone's dirty laundry out in the open for anyone to judge? Truly uncharted territory here. Mixed feelings of excitement and absolute dread permeate humanity.
Yes. We are on the brink of something BIG here. Yes. It will be an absolute earthquake of a shock to individuals and the systems we've built around us. But, maybe it's not all bad?
Pedophilia is revolting. But, if we could identify, end, exterminate all the pedophiles? If you knew everything, about everyone, and had absolute power, what would you do?
It feels like we're on the brink of asking some really BIG really DEEP questions about ourselves. About life, the universe, and everything. And, a lot of us aren't even ready for any of it. But, maybe some of us are?
The industrial revolution had effects on humanity. Some of those effects were amazing. The locomotive and common household appliances. The automobile. Can you even imagine a world without these things? But, all of this technological advancement also made war more deadly, efficient, and automated than ever. World War 2. Communism. Stalin. Mao. Hitler. Churchill. FDR. JFK. CIA. Microsoft. Amazon. Facebook. These are all brought to us by technological innovation.
I don't know what the world looks like 20 years from now. But, if you described it to me in the most exquisite detail imaginable, would I believe you? Would I evn be able to understand what you were saying?
