Is anyone genuinely looking forward to the next generation of consoles? There hasn't been one title in either the PS5 or Xbox line-up that's caught my attention as a "must play".
Last time I turned on my PS4 was to replay Final Fantasy VII. I'm pretty much done with consoles. If the games aren't being increasingly samey and homogeneous, they're butchering old franchises to be samey and homogeneous.
I pretty much loss interest in consoles after the sixth generation. With the PC releases of Halo what little interest I had in the seventh gen is basically zero now.
No way, my ps4 just shat the bed and I’m not even taking it in to get repaired, I’m putting my efforts into building a PC. Other than Bloodborne and the Demon’s Souls remake I can’t even think of any exclusives I would miss.
They test the waters every-so-often to see if they can change the retail ecosystem to benefit them. Unfortunately, this is the kind of idea that may work on some scale. They may ask for some kind of personal data that shows you are a loyal customer and use it for launch since the company won't be managing inventory and would only be making sales. Growth of this program/system would be gradual. Think of it as the rise of our favoritest thing ever, social credit systems.
Absolutely, they should. If there is a shortage, Sony are going to want to put the limited consoles in the hands of people they know are going to sink money into it early, either with digital games, subscriptions or dlc. I understand why Ars Technica thinks this is bad but not why people on this sub would. After all, we are not communists.
And if there's any problems, like the old Red Ring of Death thing, well, they get to have fun with it first. That's their downside.
Someone like me, who is curious but hasn't had anything to do with consoles since the Sega Genesis was a thing, can sit back and see just how good the thing is before deciding whether or not to get one of those, or a Vive (but I'd have to upgrade mb, cpu and ram first, so you see the conundrum for a thrifty mind.)
However, I like modding, so I'll probably get Starfield through Steam anyway, and that's the only game I know of that I'm actually kind of looking forward to, besides maybe Potion Paws. :P
Yeah, as I said, I like modding. Plus their engine has a nice Immortal mode for when I mostly just want to fuck around, but not have the blahness that is full god mode. Wish more games made it that easy, and "cheeves" can go fuck themselves.
I mostly like to mess around in open world sandboxy type things.
There are so many games between vita/3ds/switch already. Throw in the playstation console of your choice and that's nearly every good game without using a PC or emulators.
Basically, you can play every good game on either a PC or a collection of outdated handheld hardware (with a PS3 if you wanna play raidou kuzunoha or something idk)

Battletoads just came out. It's pretty dope. I guess thats... something
Nothing that you can't find on a PC as well.

Same boat here. I'll probably grab a used one for the Demons Souls remake eventually, but I'm not buying a new one and I'm certainly not pre-ordering.

PC Master Race is one move I will not regret making.
I mean, if there's a shortage of consoles, shouldn't established fans get theirs first?

What is starfield? I generally will give any game tangentially related to space a fair shake, dont remember starfield though.
And yes I realize by the time you see and reply to this I will have given it a search but would still like to hear your take on it.
Spez: Bethesda, really? Good luck with that.

It will also make things difficult for scalpers if they can't buy multiple consoles until after the supply has stabilised.
Sony seems to be reverting back to its arrogance of the 80s.
... not that you would want one.

Nah..I'll pass boss.
Do you have to drink a verification can, too?

Hey, I'll make it easy for them, fuck off with your cripple pc
Or I'll just buy an Xbox, which is better. Soyny really are overrating themselves.
