(I assume I don't need to explain in depth about how those numbers they're citing don't control for profession choice, number of hours worked per week, number of years spent in the workforce, amount of time taken off work, amount of education in the field, etc. at a place like this, but suffice to say, all equal pay class complaints like this are complete lies.)
The point is, taking something that's actually about how men are treated worse than women (men are expected to be breadwinners and women judge men by their bank accounts, therefore men sacrifice more of their time and happiness to make money than women do, then proceed to give that money to the women in their lives) and twisting it to look like it's actually about oppression of women is absolutely standard practice in the mainstream. If he just targeted men instead of women, they'd give him an honorary professorship in Women's Studies and a book deal and let him write for The Guardian.
Of course it's truly curious how a normal election with normal outcome in Belarus turned into this mess, but not everything involving women is about women.
The current president (until the vote results are officially anounced, it is still Lukashenko) got read of the possible competition in the pre-election months by fabricating cases against candidates and whatnot. The wife of one of the imprisoned candidates entered herself as a candidate and people voted for her not because they wanted her to be the next president but because they didn't want Lukashenko to remain in power.
And current protesters are both male and female, it is just harder for the pro-Lukashenko media to spin the narrative "only druggies and marginals are rioting against the lawful powers" when the local SWAT beats and detains women, girls and grandmas.
I don't know enough to say either way, but I don't think you are even close to an unbiased mind in regards to such.
