If the reporting is to be believed, they had no intention of staying in the US. The mother attempted to return home, but was not allowed to fly back due to her advanced stage of pregnancy. They returned to the UK as soon as possible and stayed there.
It's a retarded situation that shouldn't happen, but it doesn't seem there was extraction of government resources or additonal citizenship for family.
