I've heard that in prisons, the first thing a new inmate should look for is how the population is wearing their shoes. Crocs, flip flops, etc are common but when they're all wearing sneakers or anything you can easily run in, it means they all expect things to pop off at any moment.
I could see if the running shoes were something really iconically American. Yeezys, maybe. Something that shows that Canadians value American goods too and reaffirms the value of the trade deal to the companies involved.
But those? In the ancient words of the Wakandans... WHAT ARE THOSE?!
Got nothing against New Balance. Solid shoe brand, has extra-wide options which is always nice for us taller folk who get big feet by extension. But it doesn't scream "Americana" or even "Canadiana".

if you're in a security level where you can wear sneakers you really have nothing to worry about in the first place.
Political security doesn't enforce dress codes, that's not what they're concerned about.
The entire government of Canada is a failure and their fealty to a foreign King makes them all retarded.
I couldn't possibly care less what kind of shoes you wear Dominic. Your entire political life is a joke to me.
Dominic's the other guy, lol
Eh, we've sent worse

You wouldn't want to offend the dignity of a converted warehouse with some temporary desks.

New Balance actually makes a shoe in the US, the 990.

If they had a Canadian/US flag combo design on them I'd probably give them a pass because at least she would be trying.
That movie Irishman where Jimmy Hoffa is pissed at a dude for being 15 minutes late and wearing shorts and hawaii shirt instead of a suit.
I would call those casual walking shoes.
I've heard of grammar Nazis but never sneaker Nazis before
