How many faggot shows this upcoming season? It's two airing right now, with at least one per season every season for the past year or so. I've definitely noticed a deliberate and concentrated push to make BL/yaoi faggot anime more mainstream and front and center than in the past. I'm not entirely sure I'd call this the golden age. I think it's the last gasp before anime goes full pozz.
Yeah that's what i noticed too. I glanced through this season and found nothing i wanted to check out and a lot of what i found was gayshit.
It's been around for ages, and BL is very popular with ladies of certain ages. I think it's one of the least creative of any major anime/manga genre.
Any universe that gives us Frieren AND Made In Abyss has to be blessed indeed! 🙂 Not to mention Bakemonogatari, Non Non Biyori & Girls und Panzer, to name but a few.
I was not emotionally prepared for Made in Abyss. The scenes with Mitty absolutely crushed me.
I actually contemplated dropping Frieren in the first few episodes, but ended up watching it all, and really enjoying it. Definitely a slow burn show.
Yes it has existed for a long time, but it has not been mainstream for a long time until recently. This was already clear in the comment you responded to.
Jesus...Do I really have 7 shows queued up this season already? I haven't even reviewed what's coming out yet and I've already got that many.
Youjo Senki season 2 better deliver.
Link in the title.
I cannot believe the bounty! There's another 5-6 shows I'd watch for sure but... have to pass.
I only have 7 lined up for fall but they keep adding more so...
Reincarnated As A Sword Se.02 will be terrific!
There's 3 movies that will be bangers, guaranteed! But we'll have to wait for subs 😭
Girls & Panzer: Saishuushou Part 5, Seishun Buta Yarou wa Dear Friend no Yume wo Minai, Made in Abyss: Mezameru Shinpi
Reincarnated as a Sword was just some of the blandest isekai slop I've ever watched and I say that as someone who enjoys isekai slop without shame. I cannot fathom getting excited for season 2. Watching it perhaps, getting excited for it? No way.
it's one of those that suffer greatly as anime. the early light novels are decent.
I found it to be different enough to make that part bearable. Fran is too adorable, and the worldbuilding is well done. They were just getting to the meaty part of the story (it seemed) when Se.01 ended.
It's fun how he's got all this power and stuff, but he's still a dork! No "pearls of endless wisdom" from him, more like "oops, I think that's my fault".
Recently I watched Dungeon no Naka no Hito and it was very nice. A small fantasy story about running a dungeon.
I might watch this next! I'm patiently waiting for season 2 of The Unwanted Undead Adventurer.
That one would have been a lot better if it hadn't abandoned 2/3rds of the premise by the end of the first season, he was definitely not unwanted and just barely technically undead.
I’ll have to dig around, I’ve been out of watching anime for a few years now but the desire has sort of hit me lately to pick some back up.
Any exceptionally good dubs? I’d actually love one I could watch like an episode before I fall asleep in bed. I’ve always preferred subs, but bad eyes can’t read a TV screen with no glasses.
Odd Taxi had a good dub. I didn't expect to like it, but it sucked me in
It is! It's quite the different show, eh?
Definitely, and you don't expect it to go like it does when you see the cute style of the characters
There is one! Freiren!
If anyone likes Lord Of The Rings type stories? Or high fantasy in general? This one's gigantic. #1 on MAL's all-time list for a reason. All the hype doesn't even cover how good it is.
And the dub is outstanding! Frieren's English VA has a different style to her delivery? It takes 5 minutes for it to sound absolutely perfect, just like the J-VA's.
They released the first 4 episodes at once because (honestly) it takes some time to set the stage & get used to the "dual stories" of Freiren's past journey with the Hero's Party. By early Ep.03 I was totally hooked!
Se.03 in Oct '27! Not that long in comparison. People are unanimous that it's not just the best story arc in Frieren, it's one of the best manga arcs ever.
I find that most manga/anime stories take a bit to get hooked anyway. As do a lot of JRPGs. They take more time on character development. Western media will just say, "here's a character, she's a black lesbian" and that's supposed to trigger something in your programming that makes you instantly care and they don't have to bother with character arcs.
I want exiled heavy knight to be good.
Been so busy over the past several months I havent been able to watch anything. My schedule should slow down soon and I really can't wait to catch up on some anime that aired while I've been down for the count.
Did you manage to watch Frieren? If not, there's your mission! It's the #1 show on MAL's list. For good reason!
If you missed Ikoku Nikki it's a gem! So calm and wholesome, but absolutely packed with "stuff!" (It has nothing to do with witches, fear not!) 8.73 for good reason.
Okay, but how many of these are actually good rather than just anime fanboi good? Tons of popular stuff is absolutely crap.
I skip most of the "fanboi stuff" actually. Bleach? I don't think so.
I am a sucker for cute girls doing cute things though. And show me a catgirl (or other monstergirl) and I'm there dude! Even so there's some so bad I'll skip or drop them too.
You have watched Freiren of course. How about Ikoku Nikki? Which has nothing to do with witches, thankfully. It's all about the characters and it's 8.73 on MAL for good reason!
This season has (as usual) a lot of similar shows. Misunderstood princess, reluctant princess, isekai princess, scientist princess & etc. :/ Some will probably be good, but who can watch them all?
A new Fist of the North Star show? In this day and age? Interesting.
It didn't rate very well though :/
Ranma 1/2 did, good clean fun! So did Urusei Yatsura. Lum's still adorable after all these years.
♫ Atsuku nare my friends
21 shows on my dance card? How am I going to watch that many? I barely got through 15 this past season, and 2 are 5+ episodes behind.
Yani Neko is a sure winner! As is Reiwa no Dara-san.
The returning You And I Are Polar Opposites as well as 100 Girlfriends Who Really Really Love Me will be good. Also the return of Skeleton Knight In Another World.
But Jobless Reincarnation Se.03 will be a huge show!
