I lived in Germany for some years. Yes, Germany is like 2 countries in one. The Eastern part is nothing like the Western part. The communists didn't brainwash the East Germans as much. So they are very different from the Germans in the Western part. The Eastern part is not doing so well though. The economy is shit in the Eastern part. People there are struggling to survive. A lot of East German women move to the Western part of Germany.
It seems like after the wall went down, West Germany treated East Germany like a step child. West Germans are extremely prejudiced against East Germans too. EDIT: And no doubt, the people who control the economy all over the world, want the parts of the Europe where people are more BASED to have a shitty economy. It's economic warfare under crony capitalism.

So in the East you have Germans who haven't been completely brainwashed into hating themselves and know what an oppressive ideological dictatorship looks like and who haven't been flooded as much with shithole immigrants as the West.
But make no mistake you still have quite a few die-hard communists in the east. The direct successor of the GDR ruling party still has its strongholds there.
