it seems to me a cache issue that comes and goes. also sometimes an upvote won't "stick" on the feed if refreshed but will stick if you do it from the post's own page. but it is still inconsistent regardless, which leads me to believe it is cache related.
Posting for visibility because it's not getting much traction in Meta; downvotes register visually when you tap, but if you refresh the page they disappear. I posted this two days ago but, at that time, I thought it was just me and just a specific board. No comment from admin.
I'd appreciate if people tried on this comment; downvote and refresh. If the downvote stays, leave it. But if it disappears, upvote this comment (and the relevant child comment). That way we can get an idea as to how many people are affected (and if they're on mobile or PC).
I normally don't worry much about technical issues because it's usually a matter of something getting broken by an update and just needing to wait for it to be fixed. But, in this case, upvotes are not broken, suggesting someone intentionally disabled downvotes and I can't think of a non-sketchy reason for that.
It's throttled if you spam them, always has been. Try 4 or fewer at a time and see if they stick.
Edit: also check the user profile whether the post showing there still has it. Sometimes thread posts don't display the result despite it being in effect.
Nope, I can't downvote anything for two days now, on any board. Another user in c/meta also reported this problem so I figured something changed. I've never noticed this before now and I often downvote multiple posts at a time.
Looks like it still works here, unless it’s only local that downvotes work. If I downvote this post, refresh the page and go back to the homepage it appears correct for me.
So use kotakuinaction2.win. The UI is better anyway.

I read this and took (Meta) to mean Facebook and was wondering how you were able to down vote in the first place

Cool, til you have limited number of downvotes sitewide.
I'm using KIA2 win on PC and my downvotes are sticking after refresh on both your post and commment.

Downvote survived the refresh.

I'm curious.
Downvote this to test.
EDIT: who's the cheeky bastard that upvoted?
test downvote applied
No need to ask, I do it automatically for you.
Just kidding, homie. ❤️
Seems to work for me.

I also downvoted the OP, did as you did and now I'm back.
But you both get upvotes for viability in case it's a real thing somehow.
